One of the energy efficient features of Canon Scanners is the USB Power Source. This means the scanner can start working as soon as it is plugged into a computer, no AC adapter is needed.
The energy–efficiency technologies used in the CS5600F give an approximate 65% overall savings in power consumption over the CS4200F.
The white LED in CS8800F allows a short warm up time resulting in a lower power consumption.
Most Canon Scanners are ENERGY STAR® qualified. ENERGY STAR® qualified PIXMA products automatically enter low-power mode when not in use.
Canon Scanners are RoHS compliant and have restricted the use of hazardous materials. RoHS is a directive from the European Union that restricts the use of hazardous materials found in electronic products. Our products contain no cadmium, mercury, lead, hexavalent chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE).
The Canon refurbishing facility manages all waste stream processes for Canon products, so Canon has full control over recovery & salvage for this product line, not 3rd party vendors.
Canon has a hardware recycling program which includes Scanners, PIXMA Printers, and imageCLASS printers.
