DIGIC DV II is the next generation of Canon's exclusive DIGIC DV signal processing technology. Designed specifically for HD, DIGIC DV II ensures optimal high resolution image quality. It also delivers optimal image quality for photos, since it allows for the different color requirements of video and photos.

Improved color reproduction is a hallmark of DIGIC DV ll image processing and can especially be seen in skin tones and when shooting both dark and light scenes. Crystal clear high definition images are also delivered thanks to its hybrid noise reduction system that employs two types of noise reduction.
The faster processing times of the DIGIC DV ll image processor allows improved continuous shooting of digital photographs. You can shoot five 3 Megapixel still images per second, and enjoy faster processing of your images to your memory card (1.4x normal card; 2.5x Hi Speed card). It also contributes to lower power consumption - which means longer battery life.
