AVCHD DVD in a Compact Size
High Definition Image

AVCHD

AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) format is one of the latest video technologies to come to the market. Recording true 1080 video in high definition, it uses an MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) video codec to capture twice as much video using less storage onto DVDs which play in HD compatible Blu-ray DiscTM players.

AVCHD Format Camcorder
The world's smallest AVCHD Format DVD Camcorder*, it measures a mere 2.6" wide x 3.7" high x 5.2" deep -- making it more convenient to carry your HD DVD camcorder.

The convenience of shooting high definition onto DVD means there's no more fear of taping over any precious moments by accident. Every time you start to shoot with the HR10, you know you are recording onto a blank section of the DVD. You can also review footage quickly and easily on DVD, as true random access is at your fingertips -- no waiting for tape rewinding or fast forwarding.

HD - High Definition
With a quick and easy finalization process, it's simple to remove the disc from your camcorder and play it in a compatible Blu-ray disc player.

The ease of DVD and the stunning images of Canon High Definition are yours in the HR10.

*As of May 7, 2007

Canon HR10 can capture both standard definition and high definition footage. High definition footage in the AVCHD format can be finalized in camera or copied onto DVD media with included software. However, DVD media containing AVCHD footage should only be used in AVCHD compatible players otherwise the DVD player may fail to eject the media and may erase its contents without warning.

Blu-ray DiscTM is the trademark of the Blu-ray Disc Association.
