Superb Video Made Easier
Quick Start
Quick Start: With this useful feature you'll never miss a shot again by being too late to catch a scene that quickly unfolds. By pushing the Quick Start button in between shots, your HR10 goes into stand-by mode. Push the Quick Start button again, and the HR10 powers up and begins to record in less than one second. Quick Start also helps to extend the life of your battery compared to when you leave your camcorder in regular recording mode.

Focus Assist Function: With the image quality of High Definition, a properly focused subject is more critical than ever. The Focus Assist function of the HR10 ensures sharp focus by zooming into your image so you can focus on a close up view of your subject. (This is the equivalent of the manual method used by professional videographers and photographers.) You're also assisted by a Peaking function, which emphasizes image contours.

Level Marker
Level and Grid Markers: This feature enables you to make more professional looking video with your HR10 by keeping the camcorder level. A horizontal marker appears in your viewfinder when you press the Level Shot Control button. Line up any horizontal lines in your shot -- such as the horizon -- to the marker and you can be sure your camcorder is level.

The HR10's Grid Marker feature assists you in composing a more accurate shot by using the grid in your viewfinder. For maximum visibility no matter the background of the shot, you can choose from two different colors for the grid so it will stand out from the image.

Night Mode

Program AE

Program AE Mode: The HR10 will let you choose settings which automatically give you the best exposures for various situations. Each one adjusts the camcorders parameters to best compensate for the lighting conditions and subjects. Portrait mode ensures shallow depth of field for a flattering and undistracting background to portraits. Sports mode stops the action with faster shutter speeds. Night mode is designed to give you optimal exposures of night scenes. Snow and Beach modes compensate for bright surroundings and give you the proper exposure on your subject. Sunset mode results in vibrant, well-exposed colors in images of sunsets. Use Spotlight mode for bright subjects positioned against a dark background (e.g. a subject standing in a spotlight in a darkened setting). And Fireworks mode records brilliant images of fireworks display.

Low Light

Ultra Video Light

Built-In Ultra Video Light: The HR10's video light lets you shoot subjects in color in low light up to 4.9 feet away, increasing your low-light color shooting capabilities.
