Super-Range Optical Image Stabilization
|
Canon's innovative Super-Range Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) combines two different systems to give image stabilization through a wider range of camera motions. Gyro-sensors utilize optical compensation (lens shift system) based on angle speed detection, and image-sensors utilize movement vector detection using a CCD sensor. As a result, the XH G1's Super-Range OIS corrects for a wide range of camcorder motion: the fast vibration you'd experience while recording from a moving car; the medium-speed motion of hand-held recording; and the slower motion of body sway. This results in a vast improvement over image stabilization systems that correct one type of camera motion or vibration better than another.
In addition, optical stabilization -- unlike electronic image stabilization -- keeps your shot steady without a loss in image quality.

During tape recording, in Full Auto mode, the image stabilization function is ON regardless of image stabilization ON/OFF operation. During card recording, image blur compensation is activated by pressing the Photo button halfway down.
