HOW TO MAKE A HOLIDAY PHOTO CUBE
This is a great photo memento for your holiday tree or to enjoy all year long. For this photo cube I thought it would be fun to take photos of a child's head, the front of his face, the side of his face, the back of his head and his feet for a 3-D variation.
Size: Approximately 2¡± x 2

Take the pictures. Set your digital camera in portrait mode, turn off the flash, face your subject towards an open window and have your child stand in front a festive backdrop, like a solid color blanket or throw. Stand back about 5 feet back and zoom in with your camera¡¯s zoom feature to fill your frame with his face and torso.
Keep in mind that your photos have a different aspect ratio (rectangular) than what you will need for the cube (square). Don¡¯t worry we will be cutting this picture to fit later with the picture overlay template.
You stay in the same shooting perspective as your subject turns to the front, side and back. For the head and feet you will have to make some adjustments. I stood a chair over my subject when taking a picture of the top of his head and I had him lay down so I could get a cute shot of his feet.
Print out your pictures. You may need to adjust the size of your photos as you print them out to fit within a 2¡± square space. Cut out each photo.
Download the templates and print them both out. Cut out the box template along the lines according to the directions provided on the template. Fold your box template along the lines provided.

Cut out the picture overlay template and use it as a guide to mark and cut out your pictures. Glue your pictures according to the directions you see on the template. I like to use glue dots because they are easy to use, clean, and don¡¯t take time to dry.

Be sure to punch two holes in the top of your photo cube, string a ribbon through and tie in a bow. Now you can glue the top on, and you¡¯re finished! Hang on the tree with an ornament hook and admire your handiwork.
