Ready to print, copy and scan at the highest levels? You'll create 4" x 6" photos with spectacular 9600 x 2400 color dpi1 resolution (max.) in only about 35 seconds.2 The 7-color ink system produces photos that are richer and more life-like than ever before. Scans of photos, negatives and even thick notebooks will yield superb 4800 x 9600 color dpi results, and copies will be more faithful to your originals. The Ethernet interface enables networking, and the large 3.5" TFT display lets you preview images in high resolution, then print directly from compatible memory cards3 — without a computer.

This enables use of the printer to be shared between multiple personal computers, with each being able to display the status of the printer at any given time printing in progress, no paper, etc.
Scan 4800 x 9600 : High-quality scans - Produce impressive scans up to 4800 x 9600 dpi with vibrant 48-bit color depth. Easy-Scroll Wheel : Scroll and View - The Easy-Scroll Wheel lets you navigate to the functions you want, while you view your images on the TFT screen. Dual Color Gamut Technology : Automatically optimizes copy quality based on the type of originals you are copying. Memory Card Slots : Print from compatible memory cards - The memory card slot lets you print photos direct. No computer needed. Auto-Image Fix : Recognizes the type of scene, subject's face etc. and automatically adopts the optimal correction for each type of image and prints beautifully using Canon Digital Photo Color.
Duplex : Print 2 sided - Print or copy 2 sided - and save paper. 9600x2400dpi : Exceptional resolution: 3,584 Precision nozzles create exceptional resolution - up to 9600 x 2400 color dpi.   1. Resolution may vary based on printer driver setting. Color ink droplets can be placed with a horizontal pitch of 1/9600 inch at minimum.
  2. PPM print speeds are based on the highest speed printer driver mode using black and white and color text patterns. Photo print speeds are based on the standard mode driver setting using photo test pattern(s) and select Canon Photo Paper. Print speed measured as soon as first page begins to feed into printer and will vary depending on system configuration, interface, software, document complexity, print mode, types of paper used and page coverage. CPM copy speeds are based on fast mode setting using plain paper.   3. Compatible memory cards include SD™ Memory Card, SDHC™ Memory Card, MultiMediaCard®, CompactFlash®, Microdrive®, Memory Stick™, Memory Stick PRO™. The following can be used with the addition of a special adapted sold separately: miniSD™ Card, RS-MMC™, microSD™ Card, Memory Stick Duo™, Memory Stick PRO Duo™ and xD-Picture Card™.
  4. Requires mobile phone with IrDA IR and phone positioned no more than 7.9 inches from printer.
  5. Requires mobile phone (or other device) equipped with Bluetooth technology v1.2 and optional Bluetooth Unit BU-20. Bluetooth operation depends on the devices and software version used. Operating distance is approximately 10 meters but may vary due to obstacles, radio signals, locations where radio interference occurs, magnetic fields from microwave ovens, device sensitivity and/or antenna performance.
  6. The time required for the light source to reach sufficient operating temperature. Film scanning excluded.
