An issue has been discovered related to some Elura 40MC and Elura 50 products sold from May 2002 to April 2004. Affected units may have problems in the control of the tape. As a result, after an extended period of time, the product may display "REMOVE THE CASSETTE", which is a general warning message designed to alert the owner to potential damage from moisture, sand, improper tape insertion, defective tape, impact damage, or component failure.

Problem:
During recording/playback, the camcorder displays the general message "REMOVE THE CASSETTE". This problem may or may not be resolved by removing, reloading, or replacing the cassette.
