How can I print to the LR1 from a computer?

Q Printer tries to print but either no ink is dispersed or colors are missing from the document.

A It is possible that the ink cartridge(s) no longer contains liquid ink. Verify the ink status of the printer by follow these procedures:

  1. PERFORM several print head cleanings. Perform the cleanings by pressing the RESUME/CLEAN button until you hear 2 beeps.
  2. PERFORM a "Nozzle Test", by turning the printer off, then pressing and holding the Power button until the printer beeps four times. If all colors are not visible the ink cartridge may not contain ink. PERFORM additional print head cleanings, then retest. If the ink colors are still not visible REPLACE the ink tank. The problem could also be caused by poor electrical contact between the print head and the cartridge mechanism.
  3. The print head is a consumable item. When colors are not printing correctly it is generally time to replace the ink tank or cartridge. Replacement products can be located where Canon printer supplies are sold or directly from CCSI by calling (800) 385-2155. Call between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday.
  4. Finally, if problems persist, CONTACT our technical support personnel at (757) 413-2848. Technicians are available from 8:00 a.m. to Midnight (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday and Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. They will assist you with any conflicts, order replacement software, and/or outline your warranty options.

Q A Color is missing on a printout

A A BJ ink cartridge may be out of ink. Perform a nozzle test by pressing the button twice. The nozzle test will show which tanks are empty. If one or more of the colors are missing then the entire color palette will be skewed. All of the tanks must be full for proper color matching. If no ink is dispersed, perform several head cleanings- Hold the button down until you hear the printer move.
