Q My media type does not match the options available in the control panel or driver. What media type should I select?

Q What are the features of the pigment ink names "LUCIA"?

A

Addition of three special colors of R (red), G (green) and B (blue) provides a wide color reproduction range. Further, GY (gray) and PGY (photo gray) have been added, for smooth gradations with reduced graininess. At the same time, neutral and stable black-and-white prints can be produced as a result of improvements made to color shifts and light source dependency.

Two black inks - Black ink that delivers high color reproducibility with photo media, and Matte black that produces high-density black with matte paper - are provided at the same time, allowing automatic switching to the optimal black ink according to the media type. This makes it possible to produce high quality prints with a variety of media types from photo media to general-purpose media and matte media without changing inks.

Q Why do I need to replace an empty color ink tank when I only want to print B & W?

A You must have ink in all ink tanks to prevent damage to the printhead. The printer has a built-in protection system that determines if you are low or out of any ink in any of your tanks. This system will prevent the printer from printing if any ink tank is out of ink.

Q What does "MTCart Full Soon" mean?

A

This is a warning message letting you know that you will need to replace the Maintenance Cartridge soon. The message normally appears when the Maintenance Cartridge is 80% or more full and will remain in the display until the maintenance cartridge is replaced. The Maintenance Cartridge is a consumable and can be purchased at the same location where purchase your ink tanks. See Where to Buy.

Q How do I improve print quality?

A

There are several factors that can improve your print quality. If your colors do not appear to be correct print a nozzle test through the control panel of your printer to ensure all colors are being printed. If there is a color-missing try performing a Head Cleaning B as described in your manual. If the colors do not improve on the nozzle test you may have to replace an ink tank or the printhead.

Q How can I move the machine? Is there any special caution required?

A

If you transport the machine to other building, (in case of machine is needed to be tilted or expose to vibration) we recommended that ink removal procedure prior to moving. Please follow steps below:
1. Go into Main Menu pushing On line key several times.
2. Maintenance > Move Printer > Yes
3. Turn main switch off.
4. Attach Belt stoppers [1] to secure the carriage at the carriage home position so that the carriage does not become separated from the lock arm. This will prevent damage and ink leakage during transportation.

If you do not need tilt the machine (such as moving to same floor), the ink removal procedure may not be necessary. In that case, just implement step 4 to prevent machine damage.

Note that the replacement frequency depends on the amount of printing carried out.
