Canon's latest software for RAW file processing, Digital Photo Professional (v. 2.0 and higher) is now fully compatible with Picture Styles. RAW images taken with the new EOS 5D and other EOS SLRs with Picture Styles can be completely modified with any Picture Styles setting. It's a great way to experiment with the potential of Picture Styles.

Even more exciting, RAW files from previous EOS digital SLRs -- even those without built-in Picture Styles control -- can now have the full range of Picture Styles applied to them if processed in the new verison of DPP. Full RAW file processing support, along with Picture Styles support, now includes each and every EOS-1D series digital SLR, the EOS 20D, 10D, D60, and D30, as well as every version of the EOS Digital Rebel (300/350D).

Canon's DPP software is a great choice for viewing and processing RAW images. Its outstanding image quality and extensive, fine user controls are now teamed up with Picture Styles. Users can now freely apply Picture Styles controls to RAW images taken with almost any EOS digital SLR.
The Main window, where you can select one particular photo from among many: Choose from among three thumbnail sizes to quickly search for the photo you want.
Three types of checks (Check 1 - Check 3) can be performed on a thumbnail. And different purposes can be assigned to each check option (e.g.,use Check 1 for images to be printed and Check 2 for snapshots). This lets you categorize a large number of images efficiently with a single review.
Picture Style for adjusting RAW image
A Picture Style setting has been added to the RAW image adjustment option on the Tool Palette. The setting is available for RAW images shot with an EOS D30 or later EOS DIGITAL camera. This lets you obtain color tones with virtually the same feel regardless of the camera used, as long as you use the same Picture Style settings.
RAW images can be converted and saved as finished JPEGs, your choice of 8- or 16-bit TIFFs, or transferred directly to an image-editing program for further adjustments. And when you use Digital Photo Professional's Batch processing, multiple images can be processed in the background, allowing you to work on other images without waiting for the images you've already finished to be saved and closed.
Picture Styles can be applied only to RAW images (.TIF, .CRW, .CR2) shot with an EOS D30 or later EOS DIGITAL camera. Picture Styles cannot be applied to JPEG (.JPG) images.
Picture Style names in Digital Photo Prefessional Ver.2.0.0/2.0.1 and those in the camera menu are partly different.
