Home and Small Office Recycling
To contribute to the goal of zero landfill waste, Canon has introduced a collection and recycling program for Genuine Canon Inkjet Printer Cartridges. Additionally, through the Consumer Products Recycling Program, Canon helps customers in the United States recycle Canon consumer products and certain small office/home office products.

Recycling of Office Equipment and Supplies
Canon begins to analyze the environmental impact of products at the beginning of the product cycle. Programs include energy-efficient manufacturing processes, developing energy-efficient products, using a greater amount of recycled materials, creating a copier toner cartridge collection and recycling program, and eliminating hazardous substances.

The ISO 14001 standard provides organizations with a framework for developing an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). Canon's EMS is based on the Canon Americas Environmental Charter. We continue to check and improve our EMS by conducting internal and external audits.

Canon works in voluntary partnership with the EPA to design products that meet the high standards of its ENERGY STAR® program. Canon also works with the SmartWay Transport Partnership to reduce the environmental impact of our transportation activities.

'Generation Green' Consumer and Commercial Products
Generation Green is designed to provide business partners, customers, and consumers a way to identify and learn about the various environmentally conscious products and solutions Canon offer. These include energy efficiency and paper saving features, recycling options, elimination of hazardous substances, and innovative product design.
The program encompasses eligible Canon scanners, PIXMA inkjet printers, imageCLASS laser printers, copiers, calculators, imageFORMULA DR and CR scanners, imagePROGRAF Large Format Printers, imageRUNNERs, color imageRUNNERs, imageRUNNER LBP, and imageRUNNER ADVANCE. We will continue to create products that are considerate to people and the global environment.
