Canon U.S.A. Demonstrates imageFORMULA Scanning Solutions At 2010 Association of Financial Professionals Conference

SAN ANTONIO, November 7, 2010 – With the growing reliance on electronic records management in today's fast-paced financial services market, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will showcase its imageFORMULA document scanning portfolio, including the new imageFORMULA DR-6030C departmental scanner, at the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP) 2010 Annual Conference, November 7-10, 2010. Canon's imageFORMULA solutions can be found at the Canon booth #1536 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.

The imageFORMULA DR-6030C is a versatile solution for distributed scanning of large numbers of documents. Delivering color and black-and-white scan speeds up to 80 pages-per-minute (ppm)^I/160 images-per-minute (ipm), the Canon DR-6030C scanner can reliably handle a wide variety of document types such as thick documents, plastic ID cards, driver licenses and long documents up to 118-inches in length. For additional convenience, the compact DR-6030C scanner is small enough to fit on a desktop. The new scanner can also handle batches of mixed documents, with the ability to deskew or rotate inverted images, reducing preparation time.

In addition to the imageFORMULA DR-6030C departmental scanner, highlights at this year's show include:

• imageFORMULA CR-190i High Volume Check Transport: The CR-190i provides a high-performance, reliable payment processing platform that delivers Canon's extraordinary image quality in an efficient, countertop design. It is ideal for use in back office / branch capture and remittance / lockbox processing applications by banks, credit unions, utilities and other companies that handle large volumes of checks. The CR-190i can scan up to 190 double-sided cpm^II, at up to 300 dpi, while simultaneously reading Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) data. It also features three output pockets, for increased output capacity, and Ultrasonic Double-Feed Detection, for more reliable feeding.
• imageFORMULA CR-55 Compact Check Transport: The Canon CR-55 is a convenient, compact solution to decentralize payment processing from the first point of presentment to settlement. Ideal for teller or merchant capture, it offers high-quality scanning, at speeds of up to 55 cpm,^II and is compliant with the Check 21 standard. The CR-55 simultaneously reads MICR data and features a built-in imprinter. It is bundled with the Silver Bullet Ranger Driver as well as Infrared Double Feed Detection and Paper Thickness Adjustment capabilities for reliable paper feeding and image capture.
• imageFORMULA P-150 "Scan-tini" Personal Document Scanner: The Canon P-150's compact size and ease-of-use is ideal for use by "road warriors" and office users in general-purpose distributed document scanning applications, as well as check scanning in remote deposit capture applications. Measuring 11-inches long, 3.7-inches wide, 1.6-inches high and weighing just over two pounds, the Canon P-150 redefines the minimum dimensions of a document scanner with automatic document feeder. The P-150 can scan batches at up to 15 pages-per-minute (ppm) and 30 images-per-minute^III (ipm), yet still fits easily into a briefcase. For quick use and minimal set-up, the P-150 can use electrical power via a single USB cable connected to a PC, and when first connected, will immediately launch Canon CaptureOnTouch Lite through its "Plug-and-Scan" capability.

In addition to its suite of imageFORMULA scanning solutions, Canon will have software from Bankserv, one of the country's leading providers of payment solutions for financial services companies, retailers and online businesses, on display in its booth. Bankserv will demonstrate its DepositNow software, running in conjunction with the Canon imageFORMULA P-150 Personal Document Scanner.
