EPEAT

EPEAT is a voluntary environmental rating system that helps purchasers identify greener electronics. Its development was partially funded by a grant from the US EPA, and it is managed by the Green Electronics Council. EPEAT combines criteria for design, energy use, production, and recycling with ongoing independent verification of manufacturer claims. EPEAT-registered products reflect reduced environmental impact across the product lifecycle.
EPEAT registered imaging products meet an extensive list of environmental lifecycle-based criteria covered in the IEEE1680.2 Standard for Environmental Assessment of Imaging Equipment. Products are rated bronze, silver or gold depending on the number of optional points claimed.
