On September 10, 2015, Canon U.S.A. hosted the Counterfeit Insights Session at Canon EXPO 2015 New York. This event brought together a comprehensive cross-section of esteemed industry experts from Canon, Underwriters Laboratories, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the National Crime Prevention Council to explain the impact of counterfeits on safety, commerce, the economy, and society.
On June 10-11, 2015, Canon U.S.A., had a display at the 2015 UL Brand Protection Conference in St. Petersburg, FL. At this event, we promoted our Anti Counterfeit Consumer Awareness Campaign to law enforcement and brand protection service providers.
On April 15, 2015, Canon U.S.A. had a display at CES on the Hill at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. At this event, we promoted our Anti Counterfeit Consumer Awareness Campaign and demonstrated Canon products with genuine battery detection to a congressional audience.
On October 17-18, 2014, Canon U.S.A. had a display booth at the National Trademark Expo in Alexandria, Virginia, hosted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). At the Canon booth, we demonstrated the evolution of the Canon brand logo, discussed the importance of brand promotion and protection, and educated on the potential dangers of using counterfeit "Canon" products. On May 1, 2014, Canon U.S.A. and the NYC College of Technology (City Tech) hosted a panel event about the dangers of counterfeits with experts from Canon, City Tech, Underwriters Laboratories, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and a Consumer Affairs Specialist. Watch highlights from the event.
On April 23, 2014, Canon U.S.A. received the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Intellectual Property Center's 2014 IP Champions Award for the Company's "Anti-Counterfeit Consumer Awareness Campaign" that highlights the dangers of counterfeit electronic goods. The campaign was recognized for the positive impact intellectual property has on the innovative process and its role in safeguarding the marketplace for consumers.
