A very good purchase.
I bought this camera and I am very pleased with it.
The IS is at good standards, it really work in a moving situation. The CMOS sensor is way better that a CCD. It makes good pictures inside and outside, in good light and in low light. It is very good for vacation.
A more powerful battery is necessary.
The flashlight is annoying, it hits you fingers when it comes out.

Not real pleased
Finding that I am not happy with this camera.
*Too many blurred shots.
*Color not consistant in multiple shots
*HATE the low life of the battery
(it's the worse I've ever used)
*using different settings doesnt make much difference in shots
*Needs a viewfinder
** WILL be buy a different camera.
***Sad because I LOVE my last Cannon Camera

Much Better Than Expected!
The battery life is better than other brands I've used. The picture quality is better than expected. I had difficulties with the menu/controls/settings at first but then I read the manual and keep it in the camera bag for reference. I use the camera to take pictures of ancillary systems in industrial plants which typically have poor lighting and are black or dark in color. The pictures are clear, have the details I need, and have plenty of light as well as contrast. The manual is good for the most part but some instructions are not exactly perfect, but you must review the manual if you want good pictures.

good with reservations
the camera is compact and takes great pictures BUT it is not intuitive as far as using the features,,my package has no English instructions so am having problems in photo management. Only buy if you inderstand use of the features or it has appropriate instructions contained in your box. I'm still trying to find English instructions for mine.
