EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
7337

Overview
Standard zoom lens with an Image Stabilizer and high zoom ratio. With the Image Stabilizer turned on, you can obtain sharp, natural-looking pictures in dim lighting without using flash or a tripod. Very handy for places where flash is prohibited. Uses ring-type USM for swift, silent autofocus and full-time manual focus. Closest focusing distance is 20 in. (50cm).

Disappointed - chromatic aberration
I experienced constant chromatic aberration on high contrast shots using this lens.

Truthful warning
Very poor quality in the range between 80 and 135mm, even for regular printouts. Very sensitive to sand and dust, barrel shaky. 24-105 L is so much better. If anyone considers buying a DSLR for reasons of image quality (over choosing a analogue or bridge camera), this lens is inadequate for the purpose. Sold mine after two years of disappointments on my first DSLR, the 20D.

Terrible lens creep
The images on my 5d mk II look fine but the lens creep is awful. It's not even lens creep so much as it is lens flop. It falls right out when the camera is pointed down. Ker-plunk!

Perfect for Nothing, Adequate for Everything
This lense came as part of a package deal on my 40D. This lense has been sufficient for travelling and most types of photography. The images captured by this lense are neither super-sharp nor unacceptably blurry. If it is your first lense for your first DSLR camera it will do. Though as you grow and gain more experience as a photographer you will quickly desire a new, better quality lense.
