Stellar Performer. For photographers who look to the sky, Canon is proud to offer the new EOS 60Da DSLR. Following in the popularity of the EOS 20Da, the EOS 60Da is tailor made just for astrophotography. It's designed to ensure accurate depictions of the reddish hues when photographing diffuse nebulae in the nighttime sky with the increased sensitivity of hydrogen-alpha (Hα) lines (656nm). With the same advanced features of the EOS 60D DSLR, including a Vari-angle 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor for Live View compositions, an amazing 18.0 Megapixel CMOS sensor, an ISO range of 100-6400 (expandable to 12800) and more, the EOS 60Da is both capable and simple. Perfect for long exposures while gazing up into the sky, there's nothing like the EOS 60Da.
A Nebula Star
I have now been using the Canon 60Da for about six months for astrophotography. I, frankly, was amazed at the quality of the photos this thing creates. Using Adobe Lightroom 4 to process, I have captured far better quality singly shot photos with the 60Da than I was able to do with my similarly priced electro-cooled CCD with filter wheel. Better, the noise level is low enough that Lightroom 4 can completely remove any noise without darks! It gets better... An image capture that would take me an hour or longer using the CCD and filter wheel is done in about 10 minutes using the 60Da. Because of the large CMOS chip, the 60Da has enabled me to get images in one exposure that would have required extensive stitching using the CCD.
My end results are generally comparable with very high end one-shot SBIG and other astrophotographic instruments. I cannot say enough positive about this camera.

Canon 60 D
I have had my new Canon 60 D since June of 2012. Have shot close to 600 pictures with a couple of lenses that I own. One of them is a EFS 18-200 mm. I am really enjoying this new camera of mine, makes my pictures look great. I consider myself an intermediate photographer. This camera allows a great deal of flexability in my shooting style. It has alot of great settings to chose from as well. I love the 5.3 fps for quick rapid shots. Great feel to the camera feels solid in my hands. The menus are very fluid and easy to understand. I picked up a nice field guide from better understanding and to maximize the full benefits of my 60D. You can not go wrong with this camera.
Sincerely,
John S.

Great buy
I have been using this camera for about 5 months now, I like to shoot portraits, but I use it for events and street photography, its really easy to use and I can hardly think of a con to this camera, I once used it for a wedding and the video was amazing.
It's worth the investment.
