Small Workhorse
We have been using this plotter for 10 months in a small engineering office. It is simply a workhorse. Although billed as an entry-level plotter, we print client documents on this machine. The interface with the computer is easy and the front panel controls are intuitive. It scales the drawings accurately and it also renders excellent photographic images. This model was chosen because of its small footprint, however it is not a quiet machine. For us, the small area trumps quiet. The ink consumption is also small, and replacing ink cartridges is easy. Print quality and ink absorption improves when using coated paper. The only drawback so far is that single sheet feeding is problematic. It can only feed one sheet at a time and the machine requires precise hand alignment. Since we use roll paper, this is not an issue for my firm.

Just what we were looking for
Have been using this as a network printer for both Mac OSX and WinXP computers for more than 6 mos and has worked very well for what we needed: to print plans and drawings in a mechanical contractor's office. Its size and arrangement allows it to sit tight to the wall and out of the way. Draft mode is clear, fast and uses less ink than Standard mode which is only a little slower. Excellent print quality.
