       About the Scan Functions  
      For imageRUNNER ADVANCE series
The data scanned at the device is transmitted to a mobile terminal.
If the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application is installed in the device you are using, the scan settings are configured at the mobile terminal. If it is not installed, configure the scan settings using the function.

  • If you select [ADF (2-Sided)] for [Original Placement], and scan a document with binding on the short edge, even numbered pages will not be scanned in the correct orientation.

           About the Print Functions  
          To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand.
    You can access the Canon Mobile Printing download page by searching "Canon Mobile Printing" in the Google Play.

    NOTE:
    • For more information about the printing method, see "Printing Scanned Data" or "Using Documents."
    • For details about Canon Mobile Printing, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help.
    • If you use PIXMA Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint, you can print data scanned using Canon Mobile Scanning for Business on a PIXMA series or SELPHY series device. To find out about supported models, search "PIXMA Printing Solutions" or "Canon Easy-PhotoPrint" in the Google Play, and access the download page.
    • Depending on the file format of scanned data, you may not be able to use PIXMA Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint.
     
           
           Getting Started  
          Check the network connection environment.
    • The mobile terminal must be connected to a wireless LAN access point.
    • The access point and the Canon device you are using must be connected by LAN or wireless LAN.
    • Confirm that the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile terminal are enabled.
    • Download Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later and install it.
     
           
           Selecting/Detecting the Device  
          Selecting the Device
    The selected device is displayed at the bottom of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen.
    To select or register an additional device, tap [ ] in the top right corner of the home screen → tap [Select Device] → search for the device in the [Select Device] screen.
    • Automatic Discovery of a Device on the Same Network
    • Manual Search by Specifying IP Address or DNS Name (FQDN)
    NOTE:
    • Tapping the detail icon in the [Select Device] screen enables you to confirm detailed device information. (→"Confirming Device Information")
    • If functions that can be used with the device cannot be used with this app, this might be improved by deleting the device then re-registering it. For information about deleting the device, see "Confirming Device Information."
    • Tapping [ ] or [ ] at the bottom of the home screen enables you to switch the selection.
    • If [Detect Device] is displayed at the bottom of the home screen, the device is not registered. Tapping [Detect Device] enables you to search for the device.
    • Depending on the device model, you may need to update the firmware.
    • If [Dedicated Port Settings] at the device is set to [Off] when you update the firmware that supports this app, a message prompting you to update the firmware will be displayed when you register the device. When using this app, set [Dedicated Port Settings] to [On].



    Automatic Discovery of a Device on the Same Network
    NOTE
    • You can register up to ten devices in the [Select Device] screen list. If ten devices are already registered, perform a search after deleting a registered device. (→"Confirming Device Information")
    • Depending on the network environment to which the mobile terminal is connected, the device might not be discovered by [Select Device] - [Auto Search]. If this happens, enter the IP address of the device in [Manual Search]. If the device is still not discovered, check the network settings of the device, the wireless router, and the mobile terminal, or contact your network administrator.
    1.In the [Select Device] screen, tap [Auto Search].

    Discovered devices are displayed.
    If the device you want to use is not displayed, follow the procedure "Manual Search by Specifying IP Address or DNS Name (FQDN)" below.

    2.Select the device → confirm the device information in the displayed dialog box → tap [Add].
    The device is registered in the [Select Device] screen list.

    NOTE: If you are using a tablet, select the device, then tap [Use This Device] in the detailed information displayed.
    Manual Search by Specifying IP Address or DNS Name (FQDN)

    NOTE:
    You can register up to ten devices in the [Select Device] screen list. If ten devices are already registered, perform a search after deleting a registered device. (→"Confirming Device Information")

    1.In the [Select Device] screen, tap [Manual Search].


    2.Enter the IP address or DNS name (FQDN) of the device you want to use → tap [OK].


    To confirm the IP address of the device, see "How to Confirm the IP Address of the Device."
    If you search by specifying a DNS, enter the FQDN (format including host name, subdomain name, and domain name) such as described in below.
    If the host name is "device01", the subdomain name is "aaa", and the domain name is "bbb.com": device01.aaa.bbb.com

    3.Select the device → confirm the device information in the displayed dialog box → tap [Add]. The device is registered in the [Select Device] screen list.

    NOTE:
    If you are using a tablet, select the device, then tap [Use This Device] in the detailed information displayed.
     
           
           Confirming Device Information  
          Tap [ ] in the top right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → tap [Select Device].
    The [Select Printer] screen is displayed.

    [Select Printer] Screen
    Device List
    The registered devices are displayed in list form.


    The icon indicates the following content.
    [ ]: Devices whose maximum paper width is A4/Letter.
    Devices that do not have this icon can print larger paper sizes than A4/Letter.
    [ ]/[ ]: Color/B&W printers.
    [ ]: There is information from the device. Display the Remote UI from the [Device Details] screen and check the information.

    Changing the Device to Be Used
    Tap the device name.

    Deleting a Device
    With a smartphone: Press and hold the device name, then tap [Delete] in the dialog box displayed.
    With a tablet: Tap the device name, then tap [Remove from List] in the detailed information displayed.

    [ ] (Access Point)
    Displays the wireless LAN connection state and access point SSID.

    [Device Details] Screen
    Tapping the detail icon in the [Select Printer] screen enables you to check detailed information.
    If you are using a tablet, tapping the device name in the device list will display detailed information on the right side of the screen.

    Displays the device status, [Device Name], [Product Name], [IP Address], and [MAC Address].
    If the PDF direct printing or PS printing function is installed, [ ] is displayed.

    [Remove from List]
    You can delete a displayed device from the [Select Printer] screen list.

    [Remote UI]
    You can display the Remote UI for the device. When a [Check the details using the Remote UI.] message is displayed in [Scanner]/[Printer], tap [Remote UI] to check the information.

    NOTE:
    • To return to this app after displaying the Remote UI, tap [M Scanning] in the home screen of your mobile terminal.
    • Depending on the device, you might not be able to display the Remote UI from the mobile terminal. If this happens, check the status of the device at the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device.
    • If the Remote UI is displayed from the mobile terminal, you may not be able to use some functions such as file operations. If this happens, perform the operations from the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device.
    [Support Site]
    You can access the Canon support site.
     
           
           Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series When Using the Function)  
          You can receive scanned data on your mobile terminal using the function of the Canon multi-function device.
    Use this function if you cannot use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application.

    NOTE:
    • If you install the free Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application in an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device, you can scan more simply and easily than by using the function. (→"Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)")
    • If you set [On] for [Preferences] > [Network] > [TCP/IP Settings] > [Proxy Settings] at the multifunction device, scanning using the function may not operate correctly.
    Mobile Terminal Operations
    1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].


    2.In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Scan].


    3.In the scan screen, check the host name in [Host Name].


    When performing operations at the multi-function device, input the host name displayed in this screen.

    The Multi-function Device Operations
    1.Set the original on the platen glass or feeder.

    2.Press [Scan and Send] → [New Destination].


    3.Press [File].


    4.In the screen, set the destination.
    [Protocol]: Select [WebDAV].
    [Host Name]: Enter the host name displayed in the [Scan] screen of Canon Mobile Scanning for Business.


    5.Press [OK].
    Change the scan settings if required.

    NOTE:
    • If you register settings in the Quick Menu when scanning, you can recall the registered settings later by simply pressing the button you have assigned them. (→"Registering Settings to the Device Quick Menu (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series When Using the Function)")
    • In Canon Mobile Scanning for Business, some scan settings may not be applied. (→"About the Scan Functions")
    • The default setting of the WebDAV port number is "8080". You can change the port number. (→"Setting the WebDAV Port")
    • If you changed the port number, when setting the host name on the control panel of the multi-function device, enter the name including the new port number. (→"Setting the WebDAV Port")
    • If the IP address is "192.168.0.xxx" and the new port number is "8008": http://192.168.0.xxx:8008/
    6.Press [ ] (Start).
    Scanning starts.
    When scanning is complete, a data reception complete dialog box is displayed in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business. Clicking [OK] displays the preview screen.
    The method of previewing scanned data varies according to the file format.
    JPEG: A preview is displayed in the preview screen.
    PDF/TIFF/OOXML/XPS: You can select an app to display a preview by tapping the file icon.

    NOTE:
    • To preview a file of PDF/TIFF/OOXML/XPS format, the corresponding app must be installed in the mobile terminal.
    • If you select [OOXML] for the file format when scanning, you may not be able to open the scanned data with other apps. If this happens, rescan in another file format.
    You can perform the following operations on the scanned data.
    • Saving Scanned Data
    • Sending Scanned Data by Email
    • Printing Scanned Data
     
           
           Scanning (imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series)  
          You can operate the Canon multi-function device from the mobile terminal and capture the scanned data.

    The Multi-function Device Operations
    1.Set the original on the platen glass or feeder.
    2.Press [Scan].
    3.Press [ ] or [ ] to select → press [OK].
    A remote scanner waiting (online) screen is displayed.

    NOTE: Some device models enable you to set the scanner to go online automatically. If you set the device to go online automatically, steps 2 and 3 are unnecessary.

    Mobile Terminal Operations
    1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].


    2.In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Scan].


    3.In the [Scan] screen, configure the scan settings if required.

    You can specify the [Original Placement], [Color], [Resolution], [Original Size], and [File Format] settings.

    4.Tap [Scan].

    Scanning starts.
    If you scan from the platen glass, the confirmation screen is displayed in this app.
    When you want to continue scanning: Set the original → Tap [Scan].
    When you want to finish scanning: Tap [Done].
    When scanning is complete, a data reception complete dialog box is displayed in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business. Clicking [OK] displays the preview screen.
    The method of previewing scanned data varies according to the file format.
    JPEG: A preview is displayed in the preview screen.
    PDF: You can select an app to display a preview by tapping the file icon.

    NOTE:
    To preview a file of PDF/TIFF/OOXML format, the corresponding app must be installed in the mobile terminal.

    You can perform the following operations on the scanned data.
    • Saving Scanned Data
    • Sending Scanned Data by Email
    • Printing Scanned Data
     
           
           Saving Scanned Data  
          You can save data scanned in "Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)" or "Scanning (imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series)" in a mobile terminal or cloud storage.

    NOTE: In order to save to cloud storage, you need to register the service and install the cloud storage app in your mobile terminal beforehand.
    1.In the preview screen, tap [ ].


    2.Specify the save location.
    Saving to a mobile terminal: Tap [Save File] or [Save All Files].
    Saving to cloud storage: Tap [Open In] → select the cloud storage app you want to use.

    NOTE:
    • When you save a file with this app, the file is stored in the following folder in the mobile terminal.* /sdcard/CanonMScan/
    • * The name of the "sdcard" folder varies according to the mobile terminal you are using.
    • If the scanned data comprises multiple files, tap [Save All Files] to batch save them.
     
           
           Sending Scanned Data by Email  
          You can send data scanned in "Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)" or "Scanning (imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series)" by email.

    In the preview screen, tap [ ] → select a mailer.

    An email application starts and the scan data file is attached to the new mail.

    NOTE: You can set the default destination from [ ] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings] → [Send To]. It is useful If you send to the same e-mail address every time. (→"Setting the Default Email Destination")
     
           
           Printing Scanned Data  
          You can print data scanned in "Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)" or "Scanning (imageCLASS/i-SENSYS Series)."

    NOTE: To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. (→"About the Print Functions")

    1.In the preview screen, tap [ ].

    The [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.

    2.Confirm or select the device you want to use.

    The device selected in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business is displayed in [Printer].
    If you cannot connect to the device, the device you previously selected in Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.
    If you want to select another device, tap [Printer] → select a device → return to the [Preview] screen.

    NOTE:
    You can select a Canon Mobile Printing compatible device in the [Select Printer] screen as the print destination even if it is not supported by this app.

    3.If required, tap the print settings → configure the required settings → return to the [Preview] screen.

    4.In the [Preview] screen, tap [Print].

    NOTE:
    • Tapping the icon to return to the screen prior to the [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing, returns you to the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business screen without performing a printing.
    • For details about print setting procedures, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help or support site. You can access the support site by tapping [App Support Site] in the help screen of this app.
    • If you use PIXMA Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint, you can print data scanned using Canon Mobile Scanning for Business on a PIXMA series or SELPHY series device. To find out about supported printer models, search "PIXMA Printing Solutions" or "Canon Easy-PhotoPrint" in the Google Play, and access the download page.
    1.In the preview screen, tap [ ].
    2.Tap [Open in] → select [PIXMA Print]/[Canon iEPP].
    • Depending on the file format of scanned data, you may not be able to use PIXMA Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint.
     
           
           Using Documents  
          You can manage, email, and print files saved in your mobile terminal.
    In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Documents] → [Images] or [Documents].


    A list of data stored in the terminal is displayed. These are categorized as follows according to file format.
    • [Images]: JPEG, TIFF
    • [Documents]: PDF, XPS, OOXML (pptx), OOXML (docx)

    Editing the Names of Files
    1.In the [Images] or [Documents] screen, tap the Edit icon.
    2.Tap the file name → tap [Rename] in the displayed dialog box → edit the name → tap [OK].
    3.In the [Images] or [Documents] screen, tap the Done icon.

    Deleting Files
    1.In the [Images] or [Documents] screen, tap the Edit icon.
    2.Tap the file name → tap [Delete] in the displayed dialog box → tap [Delete] in the confirmation message.

    Saving Files
    1.In the [Images] or [Documents] screen, tap the file name.
    2.In the preview screen, tap [ ].
    3.Specify the save location.

    Saving to a mobile terminal: Tap [Save File].
    Saving to cloud storage: Tap [Open In] → select the cloud storage app you want to use.

    NOTE: When you save a file with this app, the file is stored in the following folder in the mobile terminal.* /sdcard/CanonMScan/
    * The name of the ”sdcard” folder varies according to the mobile terminal you are using.

    Emailing Files
    1.In the [Images] or [Documents] screen, tap the file name.
    2.In the preview screen, tap [ ] → select a mailer.
    An email application starts and the scan data file is attached to the new mail.

    NOTE: You can set the default destination from [ ] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings] → [Send To]. (→"Setting the Default Email Destination")

    Printing Files
    1.In the [Images] or [Documents] screen, tap the file name.
    2.In the preview screen, tap [ ].
    The [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.

    3.Confirm or select the device you want to use.


    The device selected in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business is displayed in [Printer].
    If you cannot connect to the device, the device you previously selected in Canon Mobile Printing is displayed.
    If you want to select another device, tap [Printer] → select a device → return to the [Preview] screen.

    4.If required, tap the print settings → configure the required settings → return to the [Preview] screen.

    5.In the [Preview] screen, tap [Print].


    NOTE:
    • To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. (→"About the Print Functions")
    • Tapping the icon to return to the screen prior to the [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing, returns you to the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business screen.
    • For details about print setting procedures, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help or support site. You can access the support site by tapping [App Support Site] in the help screen of this app.
     
           
           Setting the Default Email Destination  
          You can set the destination for emailing scanned data beforehand. You can also change the destination in the mailer when emailing.

    NOTE: Depending on the set mail address, such as an incorrectly formatted mail address, it may not be displayed in the mailer as a destination.

    1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].


    2.Tap [ ] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings].


    3.Tap [Send To] → enter an address in the displayed dialog box → tap [OK].


    The set address is displayed in the [App Settings] screen - [Send To].
     
           
           Setting the WebDAV Port  
          You can set the WebDAV port number used when scanning with an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device.
    The default setting is "8080".

    1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].


    2.Tap [ ] in the upper right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen → [App Settings].


    3.Tap [WebDAV Port] → enter a port number in the displayed dialog box → tap [OK].

    The set number is displayed in the [App Settings] screen - [WebDAV Port].
    If you scan using the function of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE series, specify a host name in [Host Name] on the control panel of the device. Enter the host name in the following format, including the port number, according to the instructions displayed in the [Scan] screen.
    If the IP address is "192.168.0.xxx" and the new port number is "8008": http://192.168.0.xxx:8008/
     
           
           The Device Is Not Detected  
          Check the following.

    NOTE:
    • If the device is not detected even after you have confirmed the following, restart the mobile terminal. The device may be detected.
    • If the device is still not discovered, consult your network administrator about the network environment.
    Canon Device
    • Does the device you are using support Canon Mobile Scanning for Business? (→ "About Support Devices")
    • Are the scan functions of the device enabled?
    The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5250/C5240 printer model, which does not support scanning functions, is not detected. Search Method
    (→ "Selecting/Detecting the Device")
    • Can you discover the device from [Select Device] - [Manual Search]?
    • Depending on the network environment to which the mobile terminal is connected, the device might not be discovered by [Select Device] - [Auto Search]. If this happens, you need to do a manual search.
    • Can you discover the device when searching for devices manually by entering the FQDN (format including host name, subdomain name, and domain name)
    If the host name is "device01", the subdomain name is "aaa", and the domain name is "bbb.com": device01.aaa.bbb.com

    Network Settings of the Mobile Terminal
    • Is [Settings] - [Wi-Fi] enabled on your mobile terminal?
    • Is an HTTP proxy set on your mobile terminal?
    If an HTTP proxy is set in the Wi-Fi settings of the mobile terminal, you cannot connect to the device from this app. If this is the case, change the setting so that a proxy is not used, or specify an IP address or DNS name (FQDN) for the device as a host that does not use a proxy. For details, consult your network administrator.

    Network Settings of the Canon Device
    • Is the SNMPv1 setting set to [On]?
    • Is the gateway address set correctly?
    • Is the subnet mask set correctly?
     
           
           Searching for a Device Takes Time  
          When you discover devices by the [Select Device] screen > [Auto Search], detected devices are listed as they are discovered. The device searching process normally takes about 10 seconds.

    If you enter an IP address of an invalid DNS server in the Wi-Fi settings of the mobile terminal, a timeout occurs during the host name acquisition process, therefore the device searching process may take some time.
     
           
           Registering Settings to the Device Quick Menu (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series When Using the Function)  
          If you register settings in the Quick Menu when scanning, you no longer need to set the send destination settings and scan settings. You can recall the registered settings later by simply pressing the button you have assigned them.

    Registering Settings to the Quick Menu

    1.Configure the scan settings at the device.
    For details, refer to steps 1 to 5 in "The Multi-function Device Operations" of "Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series When Using the Function)."

    2.Press [ ].


    3.Press [Register to Quick Menu].


    4.Press [Next].


    5.Specify the recall settings for the button to register → press [Next].

    If you want to display the confirmation screen for the settings when the registered button is recalled, press [On].

    If you want to execute a job without pressing [ ] (Start) at the same time as you press the button, press [On].

    6.Select a registration location from among [Personal] and [Shared] → select the button to register → press [Next].


    7.Set the name and comment for the button.
    Press [Name]/[Comment] → enter a name/comment → press [OK].

    8.Press [OK] → [Close].
    If you want to change the name and comment, press [Rename].

    Recalling Settings from the Quick Menu
    Recall registered Personal buttons/Shared buttons.
    1.Press [ ] (Quick Menu).

    2.Select [Personal] or [Shared] → press the button you want to use.


    3.Press [Yes].
    Depending on the network settings of the device, the wireless router, and the mobile terminal, the IP address of the mobile terminal may not be fixed. If this happens, in the [Scan and Send] screen of the device, press [Details] and change the IP address entered in [Host Name].

    NOTE: If you set to [Off] for the recall settings when registering in the Quick Menu, a confirmation screen will not be displayed when you press the button.
     
           
           Cannot Scan  
          If you are scanning from an imageRUNNER ADVANCE using the function, and set a file name at the device that includes diacritical marks or certain symbols such as double-byte characters, umlauts, and/or accents, the data cannot be correctly received in this app and a transmission failure error message will be displayed at the device.

    When specifying a file name at the device, enter a file name using single-byte roman characters or single-byte symbols (ASCII characters).
     
           
           Cannot Print  
         
    • To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand.
    • You can access the Canon Mobile Printing download page by searching "Canon Mobile Printing" in the Google Play.
    • If the Canon Mobile Printing version already installed is old, perform an update installation from the Google Play.
    • To print with a device in which the Department ID Management function is set, you need to enable the Department ID Management function of Canon Mobile Printing.
    • In the Canon Mobile Printing [Preview] screen > [Print Settings] screen, enable [Dept. ID Mgt.].
    NOTE: For other print troubleshooting procedures, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help or support site. You can access the support site by tapping [App Support Site] in the help screen of this app.
     
           
           There Is an Incoming Telephone Call While Using This App  
          The mobile terminal OS supports multi-tasking, so this app operates in the background while the phone is in use. The scanning process or preview process continues during the valid period of 9 minutes 30 seconds.

    While Scanning

    If the effective time is exceeded, the scanning process is canceled.

    While a Preview is Being Created

    If the effective time is exceeded, the preview process is temporarily suspended and resumed after the phone call is finished.

    NOTE:
    In other cases than while scanning and creating a preview, the state prior to the phone call is maintained, and back to the screen of this app after the phone call is finished.
     
           
           How to Confirm the IP Address of the Device  
          You can confirm the IP address from the network settings screen of the device.

    For details, refer to the manuals provided with the device.

    NOTE: In the case of a device for which manager settings have been configured, you need to enter a password. For details, refer to the manuals that are provided with the device or contact your system administrator.
     
           
           Restrictions When Separating Files  
          When scanning a plurality of originals and outputting a JPEG format file, the scanned data will be separated into multiple files.

    When scanning with an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device using the function, you can set the function at the device.

    In these cases, perform the following operations.

    Save/Email/Print

    Save, email, or print only the file displayed in the preview screen. Perform operations on the required files one file at a time.

    NOTE:
    * are displayed in the names of the files that you have not saved emailed, or printed.

    File Preview
    Tap [ ] or [ ] at the bottom of the preview screen to switch between and check file previews.
     
           
           What Port Numbers to Allow in a Firewall  
          Canon Mobile Scanning for Business uses the following port numbers.

           Cannot Display the Remote UI from the Mobile Terminal  
         
    • Depending on the device, you might not be able to display the Remote UI from the mobile terminal. If this happens, check the status of the device at the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device.
    • If the Remote UI is displayed from the mobile terminal, you may not be able to use some functions such as file operations. If this happens, perform the operations from the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device.
     
           
           Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series)  
          You can receive data scanned in the Canon multi-function device on your mobile terminal.
    You can configure scan settings and execute scanning from a mobile terminal by installing the free Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application on an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device.
    Perform operations on the mobile terminal after starting the MEAP application from the touch panel display of the multi-function device.

    NOTE:
    • To use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application, you need to install Canon Mobile Scanning for Business Version 1.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. You can download the latest version of Canon Mobile Scanning for Business from the Google Play.
    • The Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application should be installed by an administrator of the multi-function device. For details about the procedure for installing the application, refer to the support site. You can access the support site by tapping [App Support Site] in the help screen of this app.
    • If you set [On] for [Preferences] > [Network] > [TCP/IP Settings] > [Proxy Settings] at the multi-function device, scanning using Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application may not operate correctly.
    • Configure scan settings using the function of the multi-function device if you cannot use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application. (→"Scanning (imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series When Using the Function)")
    The Multi-function Device Operations
    1.Set the original on the platen glass or feeder of the multi-function device.
    2.Press [Canon Mobile Scanning] on the touch panel display.


    If the icon above is not displayed, press [Show All] in the Main Menu to change the display.

    3.In the screen, confirm [Device Name] and [IP Address].
    When operating from a mobile terminal, refer to the device name/IP address displayed in this screen.

    Mobile Terminal Operations
    1.In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning].


    2.Confirm or select the multi-function device you are using in the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen.


    Refer to the device name/IP address displayed in the screen of the multi-function device.
    For details about the setting procedure, see "Selecting/Detecting the Device."

    3.Tap [Scan].


    NOTE: A message is displayed if the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application is not running on the multi-function device. If this happens, start the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application on the multi-function device, then tap [Continue].

    4.In the [Scan] screen, configure the scan settings if required.

    You can specify the [Color], [Resolution], [Original Size], [File Format], [2-Sided Original], [Original Type], and [Density] settings.

    NOTE:
    • If you set items that cannot be set simultaneously, a message prompting you to change the settings is displayed. If you tap [OK], the settings are changed.
    • Set the supported scan functions and file formats at the multi-function device. If you set unsupported functions and file formats, a message is displayed when scanning and scanning is canceled. If this happens, operation might be improved by decreasing the resolution or changing the file format in the scan settings.
    • When you select [PDF (OCR)], [PDF (Compact & OCR)] or [OOXML (docx)] for [File Format] and scan a 2-sided document, if you set [On] for [Function Settings] > [Common] > [Generate File] > [OCR (Text Searchable) Settings] > [Smart Scan] at the multi-function device, the document may be scanned in a different orientation to that of the [2-Sided Original] setting of this app.
    5.Tap [Scan].

    If you scan from the platen glass, the confirmation screen is displayed at the control panel of the multi-function device.
    When you want to continue scanning: Set the original → press [ ] (Start).
    When you want to finish scanning: Press [Start Sending].
    When scanning is complete, the preview screen is displayed.
    The method of previewing scanned data varies according to the file format.
    JPEG: A preview is displayed in the preview screen.
    PDF/TIFF/OOXML: You can select an app to display a preview by tapping the file icon.

    NOTE:
    • To preview a file of PDF/TIFF/OOXML format, the corresponding app must be installed in the mobile terminal.
    • If you select [OOXML (pptx)] or [OOXML (docx)] for [File Format] when scanning, you may not be able to open the scanned data with other apps. If this happens, rescan in another file format.

    You can perform the following operations on the scanned data.
    • Saving Scanned Data
    • Sending Scanned Data by Email
    • Printing Scanned Data
     
           
           Installing/Uninstalling in a Multi-user Environment  
         
    • Operating systems that support a multi-user environment are Android 4.2 and later.
    • If another user has Canon Mobile Scanning for Business installed, you cannot install an older version. You should install the latest version.
