Civilian and military (DoD) employees will find that the Advanced Authentication CAC/PIV (AA CAC/PIV) is an embedded serverless solution that eliminates the tedious keyboard typing for user authentication at the MFP. AA CAC/PIV meets the demand for heightened information confidentiality while offering the required levels of secure device access and maintaining mission-critical reliability.
Federal employees will walk up to the device, insert their Common Access Card (CAC) or Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card into the card reader, input their pin and have access to device. Only those authorized and authenticated users will be able to use the scan, copy, and send functions.
AA CAC/PIV is an embedded solution that installs directly on the device. It requires no server or middleware. It also supports several protocols, including Active Directory, LDAP, and Kerberos. To manage access control, AA CAC/PIV easily integrates with Canon Access Management System (AMS). This enables IT administrators to easily configure role-based access and granular-level feature controls such as who can copy, scan, and send.
To ease administration, distributions and to manage their fleet, IT Administrators can easily deploy imageWARE Enterprise Management Console (EMC) Device Application Management (DAM) Plug-in. The DAM plug in can be remotely installed, updated, and the MEAP applications can be uninstalled on all network connected devices. IT administrators can centralize the Application/License Management process as well.
AA CAC/PIV also easily integrates with Authorized Send CAC/PIV. This allows credential sharing between the two applications for authorized users and improves efficiency.
