Impressive!
I upgraded from the Mark II and discovered a new world, as far as video mode and HI ISO performances are concerned. So far, that's the greatest not "very expensive" Video DSRL you can buy. AF in low light conditions, if you're not using a very fast lens, is not reliable at all and the camera has not an AF auxiliary light. Other than that, that's an amazing camera for stills and videos. It's a pity it lacks the AF auxiliary light and a built in flash...

What a difference a camera can make!
Upgraded from Canon 50D and WOW what a difference. My 50D was great mind you, but I can tell a difference in my shots. Maybe it's the bigger CMOS or the fact I shelled out so much money for the thing, but I am very happy with the results. Looking forward to trying different lenses. Mine came with the 24-105 that come with the full kit purchase, love it. Just wish video had an automatic settings so I could just point and shoot in a hurry rather than make sure I'm in focus etc... Even though I'm not a pro photo guy, but I sure feel like I could be with this bad boy on my shoulder!

Great Support??
Love everything about the 5D MkIII aside firmware support. Body built like a tank, great bells and whistles and very importantly low light capability is unrivaled with the right lens. I bought in on all the above and on the promise of HDMI Raw and view capability in the near future. My one frustration is the later which has still not materialized. Promised on or before the end of April (6mo) from time of purchase, now committed to 4/30 (the last possible day promise), I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about the promise of HDMI Raw.

Great for stills, soft low res HD video quality
First off I have to say this camera takes amazing still photographs, the autofocus system works really well. I'm amazed at the quality of the stills from 5D3. I purchased the kit version with the included 24-105mm F4.0/L USM IS lens. I've read so many reviews of this camera and thought it would be a great performer with HD video as well based on what I read, for me the HD video was a downer the quality is very soft and does not look sharp even on the fantastic LCD screen of the camera. If it looks soft on the LCD you can be sure it will look soft when downloaded to your computer. I would recommend the camera but only for stills, if sharp and high resolution HD videos are what you're looking then the 5D3 may not be your best choice at this time.
