Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E2 II A
19001

Overview
Compatible with the EOS-1D Mark IV, plus the EOS-1D Mark III (via firmware upgrade) and the EOS-1Ds Mark III (also via firmware upgrade), the compact, new Canon WFT-E2 II A raises the bar in what can be achieved wirelessly with an EOS camera. Its IEEE 802.11 a/b/g is compatible for fast communication, it connects easily and works with WPS setups, and it has Canon's amazing Camera Linking Function and WFT Server Remote Live View shooting. Built-in USB Host compatibility allows for connection to external hard drives, and select GPS units either by USB cable or optional Bluetooth dongle. Designed to mount directly to the side of a compatible EOS camera, it maintains all-weather-resistant seals and the rugged durability of the camera while affording access to all the camera's buttons and controls.

Solid Performer
Having used the Wft-E1a's on my Mk2's this was easy to setup and configure. I like the speed and added options that are available. I've got one of these for each of my bodies.

I love it
It's a great product. Plenty of setup options to use. I have it linked to my studio PC, my laptop and iPad. It's compact, easy to attach no problems with the setup if your using the EOS WFT software for your PC or MAC. Once you understand the setup and optioning, it's a terrific compliment the camera especially when working in the field or at client sites.

Major Disappointment
I have owned this for a year.
The setup and configuration is a ridiculous and unnecessary exercise in frustration. I am knowledgeable in computers, I have an 8 computer LAN with both pc's and Macs plus some IP video cameras and two NAS servers as well as 3 wireless access points and I have had no problems in set up and maintenance until this WFT E2 came along. In this day and age it is ridiculous to produce wireless devices that require this level of setup and to market them with inadequate reference materials. Canon makes great cameras but this is a failure not only in setup and documentation but in use as it is slow and clunky even with a high speed network.
If you are considering one of these just make sure that you positively need a wireless device otherwise you will never use it.
