With the DC22's advanced photo features, you get both a digital video camcorder and digital still camera -- all rolled into one. Just like an advanced digital camera, the DC22 lets you choose the metering mode and scene mode that's right for your subject, or lets you shoot with Auto Exposure Bracketing.
For control over depth of field and capturing motion, you can shoot in either Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority. High Speed Shutter is perfect for shooting on bright, sunny days. 9 Point AiAF (Auto Intelligent Auto Focus) keeps your subject in sharp focus. Auto Exposure Modes
Like any good digital still camera, the DC22 lets you choose from a range of exposure modes. Auto mode automatically sets the exposure, letting you concentrate on your subject. AV (aperture priority) lets you control depth of field by letting you choose the aperture. TV (shutter priority) lets you select the shutter speed for sharp, action shots. In P (program) mode, the camcorder adjusts camera settings automatically.

Metering Modes
For advanced photographers -- and videographers -- the DC22 gives you a choice of metering modes. Depending on lighting conditions and your subject, you can choose between: Evaluative, Center-weighted average, and Spot metering.

Image Effects
 The DC22 lets you choose from the following effects to add creative flare to your photos: Vivid, Neutral, Low-Sharpening, Soft Skin Detail, and Custom.

Continuous Shooting Mode
With this mode, your DC22 operates like a camera with a motor drive, for rapid fire shooting at 2.5 frames/second (1632x1224) or 3 frames/second (1280x960). It's perfect for fast-action sports, or even faster kid-action!

Auto Exposure Bracketing
To capture the perfectly exposed shot, even under tricky lighting conditions, Auto Exposure Bracketing lets you automatically capture three photos -- one at normal exposure, one underexposed, and one overexposed.

A wide selection of automatic exposure modes makes it easy to capture great photos -- and video -- under any conditions. Portrait mode ensures shallow depth of field for a pleasing background to your shots of friends and family. Sports mode stops the action with faster shutter speeds.
