VIXIA HF M400

Features
24p & 30p Frame Modes
24p Cinema Mode enables all aspiring moviemakers to achieve a professional "film-look." You can change the camcorder's frame capture rate to 24p (recorded at 60i), which provides the appearance of the same frame rate as movie film. In addition, you can use the VIXIA HF M400's CINE setting, which changes the color and tonal characteristics, evoking the look and feel of a movie shown in a theater. For added flexibility, these settings can be used together or independently.

Simulated Images
You would normally have to look to professional video cameras in order to have a sophisticated tool like 30p Progressive Mode at your command. In addition to the standard interlaced video frame rate of 60i, you may choose to set the VIXIA HF M400 to capture video in 30p (30 progressive frames, recorded at 60i), which is particularly useful for footage to be used on the Internet. Excellent for action and sports shots, this setting gives enhanced quality to still images captured after recording.

Short learning curve, great HD performance
We make short video productions and needed a compact portable easy to use 1080p camcorder. The HF M400 delivered what we needed, true 1080p 16:9 aspect video having very impressive quality. The HF M400 is packed with features, yet has a short learning curve and easy to use controls. We were able to make quality full featured video clips after only a few hours practice. The internal microphone gave good quality audio in face-to-face interviews. When mounted on a tripod the 10x optical zoom gave smooth pan and zoom effects. For hand held shots, optical image stabilization gave great results. If you like to get technical, the HF M400 is packed with features described in a 200+ page manual. We are very impressed with this camcorder after two months heavy use. If you need true 1080p 16:9 AVCHD high definition video capability, the HF M400 delivers. No tape, no hard disc is a plus. All video goes onto two SD cards. Easy to switch out. Many more useful features on this cam. Excellent quality for price.
