Canon U.S.A., Inc. has become aware of a certain phenomenon that may occur when documents are scanned using the following versions of CapturePerfect followed by use of edit functions on the file created by such scanning:
The phenomenon is as follows:
Within CapturePerfect 3.1, there are editing functions such as 'Delete Page', 'Insert/Add Pages' and 'Replace Page', in addition to the basic functions of capturing images. It has come to our attention that in certain instances, when such editing functions are used following creation of the file, CapturePerfect 3.1 may delete the file.
After creating a new file (pdf or tif), regardless of scan settings or file properties, or opening an existing file (pdf or tif), regardless of scan settings or file properties, from the top of the screen, click on Page and choose either 'Delete Page', 'Insert/Add Pages' or 'Replace Page'. Upon completing this function, the file you are editing may be deleted.
This phenomenon could result in the loss of data should you discard the original source documents after scanning.
The above phenomenon will be eliminated by installing the following patch, which will update CapturePerfect to CapturePerfect 3.1 version 3.1.12. To avoid this phenomenon please immediately update your CapturePerfect with the patch noted below.
CapturePerfect 3.1 version 3.1.12
Please check your installed version number of CapturePerfect 3.1 to see if it is necessary to download the patch. Check your version by clicking Help ->About from the menu bar on top of the CapturePerfect 3.1 screen. If your version is lower than version 3.1.12, please download and install the patch.
