Features
PosterArtist Lite
Canon's included PosterArtist Lite poster creation software gives users the ability to quickly and easily create professional large format prints. Users simply follow the program's four (4) easy steps to create posters that can be used in applications such as Office presentation, Trade shows, Retail Signage, and much, much more. The PosterArtist QuickCopy feature provides an easy solution for a CanoScan desktop scanner to be used as a copier, making letter-size flyers and documents into full-size posters with a touch of a button.
For those with more demanding poster creation needs, Canon's optional PosterArtist offers advanced features such as Auto Design, Variable Data and in-application image editing features, as well as additional templates, royalty-free photos and clip art. The built-in weblink feature in PosterArtist Lite links users directly to the PosterArtist website for useful hints and tips, and even more free contents for download.

Small Workhorse
We have been using this plotter for 10 months in a small engineering office. It is simply a workhorse. Although billed as an entry-level plotter, we print client documents on this machine. The interface with the computer is easy and the front panel controls are intuitive. It scales the drawings accurately and it also renders excellent photographic images. This model was chosen because of its small footprint, however it is not a quiet machine. For us, the small area trumps quiet. The ink consumption is also small, and replacing ink cartridges is easy. Print quality and ink absorption improves when using coated paper. The only drawback so far is that single sheet feeding is problematic. It can only feed one sheet at a time and the machine requires precise hand alignment. Since we use roll paper, this is not an issue for my firm.

Just what we were looking for
Have been using this as a network printer for both Mac OSX and WinXP computers for more than 6 mos and has worked very well for what we needed: to print plans and drawings in a mechanical contractor's office. Its size and arrangement allows it to sit tight to the wall and out of the way. Draft mode is clear, fast and uses less ink than Standard mode which is only a little slower. Excellent print quality.
