This printer has been programed in a way that as soon as you run out of any ink color, you cannot access the scanning option. Also you cannot buy only the black ink to print in black and white, you will have to replace all the colors witch costs almost half of what you will pay for the printer. The first ink cartridges that came with the printer ran out way too fast.

I bought this Canon MG5320 in July, 2012 and I have not had any problems with it, except it is an ink hog. I love the rear tray the most. I use it to print my sheet of file folder labels, address labels, shipping labels, greeting card stock and small 4x6 or 5x7 photos. The other printers do not have this feature and I had no problems until today. Printing is very fast, photos come out beautiful (the blues are a bit off, too green on my printer) but it is fast, and documents (I'm a legal secretary) come out sharp and no ink smears! It is a bit heavy. Only needs 2 cords instead of 3 (Lexus used that many) and closes up to keep dust bunnies out. The paper has never jammed in all the time I have had this. I took out an extra warranty and hoping Staples will get me a new one or figure out why the rear tray is now jamming.

I was SOOOO pleased at first. It did photos in B plus or better quality - not bad for a home printer. It did printable CD's very nicely. And it broke down after a few months. This seems to be a common problem. The ink carriage just WON'T MOVE, and no amount of turning off power supply, etc., turning upside down, gentle shaking, looking for scraps of paper inside (there aren't any) can undo the jammed mechanism. Apparently this happens often with this printer. Often. And it is too costly to repair. Canon used to be at the very top of the heap for quality control. Now, they are just another mediocre brand among many -- and it pays to read reviews of SPECIFIC MODELS before you buy anything like this.

Worst Printer I Ever Owed
This is absolutely the worst all-in-one I have ever owned and I would highly suggest others do not purchase. Unit does not work properly when wireless. The unit will not recognize the wireless connection and then I have to fight with it for hours to get it to work again. When I give up on wireless and plug in the network cable it basically has the same issue. I get error messages stating the usb cable is not plugged in etc... I can go on for hours. I encourage others to avoid purchasing this model.
