Don't waste your time and money with this one
I've had this printer for over a year, and just as the other reviewers said, the wifi does not work! I've wasted alot of my time trying to get this to work that way. So frustrating!

Awful wireless in a decent machine
I've been using this printer for nearly a year, and I've never been able to get the wireless connection to work for more than a week at a time. Otherwise it's fine, but I feel I paid a premium for wireless that doesn't work!

Can't get wireless working
Works great while the USB is connected but I cannot get the wireless feature working. After searching the internet it seems like a lot of people are having the same problem.. and it really irritates me.. i have wasted a lot of time. We bought it for the wireless feature as our computer is not near the printer.. so we have to unplug it every time we want to print.

handy little multifunction unit
The PICMA MP499 is a great little multifunction printer/copier/scanner. The colors are sufficiently rich and the registration is sufficiently precise, and both are even better on quality paper. The wireless feature is fabulous; I just wish I could have set it up in Linux all the way instead of having to get it started in Windows. For our Windows PCs it works beautifully and the WiFi is very convenient. Printing from Linux works, too, though I haven't figured out how to scan in Linux. For the price it's a huge bargain. I just wish the ink were cheaper, but it's not worse than other brands. I went with the extra capacity refills - the normal size lasted a while, but I hate running out.
