The VK-16 version 2.0 software allows for a variety of recording options. Cameras can be set to record continuously, on motion detection, or even on a sensory event. Video can be recorded in either M-JPEG or MPEG-4 formats, at a frame rate as high as 30 frames per second. Recording in M-JPEG format ensures every frame is a complete picture, free of any image degradation. Recording in MPEG-4 format saves disk space by decreasing the size of the video files stored. The camera can also be to record while a preset tour is running, and even change settings for exposure based on the camera site.
Depending on the camera servers installed, the resolution of video being recorded can be set to 640x480, 320x240, or 160x120 pixels.
