DIGI SUPER 86 XS

The DIGI SUPER 86XS is a powerful Field lens that utilizes Canon's unique optical design concept "Power Optical System" with "X- Element".

Now it is possible to get the best SDTV performance for today and carry on your investment into HDTV when the transition is made.

Building on what only Canon can offer, the Digi Super 86xs is bolstered by a newly developed optical stabilization system for shakefree shooting. The new optical stabilization system is incorporated into the lens, in contrast to the VAP (Vari-Angle Prism) system, a Canon-only image stabilization innovation which is used for their smaller lenses. This new stabilization technology, culled from Canon's expertise, is being incorporated into a broadcast lens for the first time with the introduction of the 86X. Capable of eliminating vibrations at a frequency of up to 10Hz, the Digi Super 86xs offers precision at the telephoto end considered impossible before now.

By adopting this new technology and concept, the DIGI SUPER 86 XS fully meets the optical performance required for HDTV with the increased zoom ratio of 86x and with the improved wide angle of 9.3mm. All of this was made possible while still maintaining the size equivalent to that of current SDTV lenses.

Canon's latest generation digital servo system allows the use of many new functions such as constant angle of view while focusing "CAFS" characteristics. These functions are only possible with a digital servo system. In addition to these new functions, the upgrading of software will be possible when new functions become available in the future. This means that the DIGI SUPER 86XS has unlimited possibilities.
