DT-30

Wide Range of Data Transfer Speeds: 10 to 156Mps

The DT-30 can handled wide range of data transfer speeds from 10Mps to 156 Mps. The DT-30/MM(=Multi-mode Fiber Type) is bit rate free and needs no adjustments to interface with your network, whether it is FDDI or ATM as long as the bit rate is 10 to 156Mps. The DT-30/TP(=Twist-Pair Type) handles 125Mps at 100Base-TX.

"SNMP" Built-in as Standard Feature

SNMP, Simple Network Management Protocol, is an effective tool for managing a that is composed of network equipment supplied by different venders. Each Canobeam unit can be assigned with an IP address and monitored via your network management software. SNMP greatly reduces the burden and workload of confirming and controlling the operation of the network, and allows the network manager to respond quickly and flexibly to the needs of the network.

Provides High-Quality, Reliable Wireless Comunications Up to 500m

With an unobstructed line of sight and normal weather conditions, the laser network can provide instant, high quality, highly reliable communications at a distance of up to 500m.

Highly Secure Data Links

Point to point wireless data transmission by optical beam provides high security. Eavesdropping by unauthorized personnel is almost impossible, as it would require access to the beam footprint at the receive side. At 500m, the footlprint is under 4m in diameter.

Requires No Radio Frequency Allocation, Permits or Licenses

Because this systerm uses lasers, it is not subject to "Radio" laws, therefore no radio frequency allocation, permits or licenses are required in order to use this systerm. Also this system is not affected by, and does not cause, any electromagnetic interference.

Initial Costs Are Much Lower Than Installing Fiber Optic Cable

A free space optics network can be installed for much lower cost, since there are no additional construction costs such as those involved when fiber optic cable is trenched. Also, operating costs are limited to minor electricity and maintenance costs.

Optimized Optical Performance

By combining Canon's extensive experience in optical design technology for lenes with laser transmission technology, Canon has been able to adopt a group of optical lenses that are optically designed for use in free space optics equipment.

The Same Manner As Fiber Optic Cable

The Canobeam is protocol transparent. It is not dependent on a protocol outside of the physical layer of the LAN, it can be used in the same manner as fiber optic cable by matching the optical signal terminals.
