Installer Tool
Quick Fix Engineering (QFE) is Microsoft’s name for
patches and the system tool used to install them. These
patches were previously called “hot fixes.”
“QFE” can be used to describe both the method
of delivering and applying a patch or fix, and also to refer
to any individual fix. The QFE Installer Tool can be used
with ColorPASS models which are built on the Microsoft Windows
XPe platform (ColorPASS-Z3000/Z500e/Z6000/Z7000/Z7400/Z800)
to install security patches. The QFE Installer Tool can
be obtained by downloading the tool below. There is also
a separate file that contains directions for its use.
Remote Desktop
Canon U.S.A., Inc. is introducing support for Remote Desktop
to be run on the ColorPASS- Z3000/Z500e/Z6000/Z7000/Z7400/Z800
controllers. It can be used to:
-
download patches onto the ColorPASS
-
install/update anti-virus programs
-
Microsoft windows security settings
-
port filtering
To enable and disable Remote Desktop Services download
the self-extracting file, “Remote Desktop.exe”.
This file contains two PostScript files, “1-E4VH1.ps
(to enable remote desktop).ps” and “1-E4VH1-R.ps
(to disable remote desktop).ps,” which when downloaded
on to the ColorPASS, following the procedures detailed in
"Remote Desktop Instructions.pdf", will turn Remote
Desktop Services ON and OFF. It is important to read and
follow the directions.
