Our Commitment To Privacy:
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this Statement explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this Statement easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and on every page where our information collection practices are applicable.

Scope:
This Statement covers all areas of www.usa.canon.com (hereinafter referred to in this Statement as the "Site" ) on which our privacy statement hyperlink appears. The information covered by this Statement is Information an individual provides to Canon USA outside of the individual's trade, business or profession ("Information").

The Information We Collect:
There are two forms of Information that Canon USA collects online: Site Visitorship Information and Personally Identifiable Information voluntarily provided to Canon USA by Site visitors.

Site Visitorship Information
Canon USA routinely gathers Information on Site activity, such as data on how many people visit the Site, the pages they visit, where they come from, how long they stay, etc. Site Visitorship Information is:
   • collected on an aggregate, anonymous basis, which means no Personally Identifiable Information is associated with this data;
   • gathered through the use of web server logs and cookies. A web server log is a file where web site activity is stored. A cookie is a small piece of information that a web site sends to a visitor's computer and which is then stored on the visitor's hard drive. Canon USA uses cookies to track repeat visits to its Site. Although Canon USA assigns a cookie to a visitor's computer, it does not know who that visitor is unless that person specifically tells us.
   • used to better design our Site and to share with advertisers to create targeted marketing.

Personally Identifiable Information
Personally Identifiable Information is also collected on certain pages of the Site. If you decide to contact Canon USA online to ask a question, learn more about a product or register a recently purchased product, download certain software or service applications, place an order for products or inquire about products you may already own, you will find that those contact forms ask for certain types of Personally Identifiable Information to assist us in complying with these requests.
   • Canon USA may ask you to provide Personally Identifiable Information, some optional, some required, on specific pages of the Site. The information requested may include your name, address, e-mail address, shipping information, phone number, product model and serial numbers and your dates of purchase, credit card and/or debit card information and your comments. Personally Identifiable Information may be forwarded to a Canon USA business unit or the appropriate Canon USA subsidiary or affiliate company that is equipped to handle your order, inquiry or feedback.
   • Personally Identifiable Information is collected by means of warranty cards, magazine "bingo" cards, trade show information, e-mail and voluntary online surveys. This Information is also collected to personalize and customize your experience on the Site. For example, if you choose to register for the optional Greeting Card Club portion of My Print Planet, we will ask you for the first name, relationship, occasion, and occasion date (month and day only) for the occasions you indicate you would like to receive an e-mail reminder about, so that we can enhance your My Print Planet experience.
   • Personally Identifiable Information is gathered as part of any entry for a sweepstakes or other promotion. If you choose to enter a sweepstakes or other promotion we conduct, you will be required to submit certain personal information, such as your name, e-mail address, street address and phone number, and we will also ask for certain additional information, which is optional and is not required to enter the promotion. We will use the required personal information you submit to us for promotion administration purposes, such as notification of winners.
   • My Print Planet members will have the option of participating in the Bulletin Board section of the Site, designed to assist members in sharing ideas for creative projects utilizing their Canon products. The Bulletin Board feature is accessible by all My Print Planet members, and all information you post there, whether personally identifiable or not, is available for viewing by all My Print Planet members; accordingly, we suggest you exercise discretion when posting information to the Bulletin Board.

Personally Identifiable Information is collected only when Site visitors voluntarily provide it. It is not necessary to provide any Personally Identifiable Information in order to simply browse the Site.

These sites are not affiliated with Canon USA and they maintain separate privacy policies that govern the transfer of your Information. Should you have any questions about the privacy practices of these companies, we recommend that you contact them directly.

In the course of growing or restructuring our business, we may purchase the assets of another company or sell the assets of our company. This includes exchanging Information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Our Commitment To Data Security:
Canon U.S.A. works hard to ensure that our systems are secure and that they meet industry standards. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the Information we collect online. The security of personal information you may submit in connection with a promotion entry, survey response, and/or registration for any feature on the Site is of the utmost concern to us, and we strive to ensure its security on our systems. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you transmit such information at your own risk. We will continue to assess new technology to evaluate its ability to provide additional protection of your Information.

Our Commitment To Children's Privacy:
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our Site from those we actually know are under 13. From time to time, certain web pages that are either linked to or incorporated in our Site, and that are maintained by our parent company, subsidiary or affiliated companies may contain child-themed content meant for adults to download and print for use by children. Our parent company Canon Inc., for example, conducts photography/videography contests from time to time that are open to participation by children. In these situations, data are not collected online, but rather through a printed contest entry form that is mailed to the contest administrators and to our parent company in Japan. These contests are subject to specific rules and policies that are posted with related contest information. Alternatively, certain web sites in our Imageland, My Print Planet and other Consumer Imaging Group web sections also include child-oriented content as part of a broader family audience target. The My Print Planet registration process, for example, requires the potential member to provide their complete birth date. If the potential member provides a birth date that indicates that they are under 13 years of age, they will not be permitted to register with My Print Planet. In addition, if after registration we receive notice that a member submitted an inaccurate birth date at registration and is actually under 13 years of age, we will immediately close their account and delete their personal information.

Canon U.S.A. encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children and to participate with them in the various interactive activities available on the Internet and on our Site in particular.

Right to Change Internet Privacy Statement:
Canon U.S.A. reserves the right to change this Statement at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site.

Access to and Ability to Correct Personal Data:
We never use or share the Personally Identifiable Information provided to us in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses. If you do not want us to share your Information with affiliated and/or non-affiliated third parties, refer to the Customer Information Preference Brochure that has an attached panel that must be printed, signed and returned to us to process your choice to opt-out of Information sharing. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
