Canon, U.S.A., Canon Virginia and Christopher Newport University established the Canon Leadership Scholars Program to reward outstanding students and nurture an appreciation of the art of leadership and the importance of citizenship. The purpose is to develop a new generation of committed and highly effective leaders in the United States.

Students from throughout the United States will be chosen to participate in Christopher Newport University's highly respected President's Leadership program. Through a rigorous academic curriculum, guest speakers, community service, study abroad and internships these students will be empowered to become caring, knowledgeable and effective leaders in America and the world.
