Environmental Donations & Employee Volunteerism

In addition to Canon's emphasis on the effective use and management of natural resources, Canon U.S.A., Inc. supports several programs that promote conservation science, enviornmental education, and employee volunteerism.

Canon National Parks Sciences Scholars

The "Canon National Parks Sciences Scholars" program provides three-year scholarships for environmental research in National Park ecosystems to competitively selected doctoral candidates from leading universities. Those selected are the best and the brightest graduate students in diverse scientific disciplines. Canon U.S.A.'s support enables them to conduct park-related research, which helps them fulfill their dissertation requirements while simultaneously broadening the body of knowledge that supports the well being of National Parks and other natural areas.

Canon Envirothon

For teenage environmentalists, Canon U.S.A. also supports the "Canon Envirothon," the largest high school environmental competition in North American. A fun and exciting way to encourage the study of the environment, the "Envirothon" helps students develop an early sense of environmental responsibility and introduces them to the real life challenges of maintaining a healthy environment. Through in-class study and hands-on field experiences, students learn about the role that an individual can play in important environmental issues. As the title sponsor since 1997, Canon awards scholarships to national competition winners.

Thirteen/WNET New York's NATURE Series

Canon's underwriting of Thirteen/WNET New York's NATURE series on PBS has helped bring natural wonders from all over the world right into the living rooms of millions of Americans. The leading showcase on American television for natural history and wildlife films, this award-winning PBS series has raised the environmental consciousness of millions of Americans by celebrating the beauty, diversity, and value of the earth's species and habitats.

Canon Clean Earth Crew

Canon employees are an extraordinary example of the company's commitment to protecting and improving the environment. "The Canon Clean Earth Crew" is the venue through which Canon U.S.A. employees can volunteer their time and talents to conservation activities within their local communities. Canon Clean Earth Crews conduct conservation activities in local parks and preserves and also promote internal and community recycling programs. This nationwide corps of employee volunteers is dedicated to preserving the beauty of our natural world for future generations.

Canada's Clean Earth Campaign

In Canada, Canon supports the World Wildlife Fund of Canada and The Nature Conservancy of Canada.
