LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. September 1, 2005 — On behalf of Canon's worldwide groups, Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announced the donation of one million dollars in support of relief efforts for victims of hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi. Canon also will match the amount donated by its employees towards the relief effort.

"We have all seen and been deeply affected by the unimaginable impact of Katrina. I know I speak for all Canon employees when I say our prayers are with the families of those who lost loved ones in this tragic disaster," said Yoroku Adachi, President and CEO of Canon U.S.A., Inc.

Canon is making its donation to the American Red Cross to support their efforts in rushing food, water, medical supplies and other badly needed materials to those in the hardest hit regions of Louisiana and Mississippi.
