LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., October 7, 2007 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in document imaging and office solution, introduces the latest addition to the award winning DR-Series Scannersi, the Canon DR-X10C High-Speed Color Production Scanner. The DR-X10C, Canon's flagship document scanner, provides color scanning up to 120 pages per minute (ppm) and 240 images per minute (ipm)ii. The Canon DR-X10C will make its debut in the Canon booth (#121) at the 2007 ARMA International Conference and Expo October 7th-9th in the Baltimore Convention Center.
The DR-X10C scanner is designed for high-volume, paper-intensive environments with an impressive 120 ppmiii scanning speed in color, grayscale or monochrome at 300 dpi, along with an impressive daily duty cycle of 60,000 scans. Incorporating a three-line CMOS CIS sensor with approximately 600 dpi optical resolution and Canon's first Wiper and Blower system, which helps to remove and protect the scanning sensors from dust, the DR-X10C achieves impeccable image quality. The DR-X10C captures a wide variety of documents with a maximum document size of 11x17 inches.

Canon's DR-X10C scanner brings operator convenience to a new level to enable fast, unattended batch scanning regardless of page size with the ability to detect each document size while rollers adjust to paper thickness in a mixed batch. The scanner also features hardware and software de-skewing features to help physically and digitally ensure properly aligned scans. The device has the ability to rotate images by detecting character orientation and skip blank pages. The production scanner features three Ultra Sonic Double Feed Detection sensors and Canon's exclusive, patented Staple Detection feature.
The DR-X10C boasts Canon's renowned image quality and advanced image processing features to boost scanning efficiencies. In addition Advanced Text Enhancement, Auto Color Detection, Moiré Reduction, and other imaging technology help ensure all text is properly extracted and captured on all scanned documents.
Full of high-performance features, the DR-X10C desktop production scanner will provide exceptional image quality, scan versatility, easy operation for healthcare, financial, and other paper-intensive scanning environments. The DR-X10C will be available through authorized Canon dealers, select distributors, and Canon resellers in early 2008 at a manufacturer suggest retail price of $18,000*, priced below the suggested retail price of most 100ppm competitive modelsiv.
