OfficeMax to Roll Out Canon's imagePROGRAF iPF 6000S and iPF 8000S Large Format Printers
OfficeMax ImPress Print and Document Service Counters to Leverage Canon's Latest Large Format Technology to Meet Increasing Demand for Larger Digital Prints

Chicago, October 26, 2008 – With the rising popularity of digital photography and document production services, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of digital imaging technologies, and OfficeMax, a leader in office products and services, today announced that Canon's imagePROGRAF iPF6000S and iPF8000S large format printers will be installed at all of the OfficeMax ImPress in-store print and document service counters across the country.

The use of Canon's imagePROGRAF technology will allow consumers and business clients to conveniently print professional quality, larger sized prints, including 18 inch X 24 inch, 24 inch X 36 inch or larger at OfficeMax locations. With a maximum print resolution of 2400 X1200 dots-per-inch (dpi), the imagePROGRAF iPF6000S and iPF8000S printers can produce high-quality prints up to 24 inches and 42 inches respectively quickly and efficiently.

The imagePROGRAF iPF6000S was recently introduced at SGIA in Atlanta. Earlier this year, the imagePROGRAF iPF8000S received a BERTL's BEST Award and high ratings from BERTL, a national recognized analyst firm and testing lab.

"The use of Canon's imagePROGRAF printers has proven to be the perfect solution to create value and opportunity for OfficeMax's customers and individual stores through large format printing," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "The imagePROGRAF iPF6000S and iPF8000S is Canon's answer to the growing demand for large sized prints, allowing OfficeMax to produce jobs faster with outstanding quality and consistency."

According to Ryan Vero, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, OfficeMax, "More than ever, customers are repurposing images and sharing them as files or even large prints. However, they do not want to sacrifice the quality of their prints. Canon's imagePROGRAF printers are the best of its class and provide the highest standard in print quality. Since installing the original imagePROGRAF printers in 2006, customers have been quite pleased with the results."

In 2006, OfficeMax installed Canon's imagePROGRAF W6400 large format printers in more than 500 OfficeMax Print and Document Service Centers nationwide, and in 2007, more than 350 imagePROGRAF printers were installed. Today, all of OfficeMax's more than 1000 retail stores have an imagePROGRAF printer. Over time, the imagePROGRAF iPF6000S and iPF8000S printers will replace those imagePROGRAF W6400s by mid-year 2009.
