CANON U.S.A. AWARDED NEW GSA SCHEDULE CONTRACT

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., January 15, 2009 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital document imaging and office solutions, today announced that the U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) awarded Canon U.S.A. a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract under the consolidated schedule.

GSA designed the consolidated schedule as a means for industry to offer a more diverse service and product base under a single schedules contract, rather than managing numerous separate schedule contracts. In addition to the federal government, agencies within several states, including California, Ohio and New Jersey, take advantage of GSA contracts to help meet their needs for document solutions. With this new GSA schedule, government customers will have direct access to Canon's award-winning imageRUNNER MFPs and imagePROGRAF wide format printers, as well as its portfolio of advanced document management solutions.

"Canon U.S.A.'s presence on the GSA schedule will allow more government agencies to leverage Canon technology and solutions in their workplace," said Gary Barth, vice president, Government Marketing, Canon U.S.A. "Canon U.S.A. has a long history of providing federal agencies with quality document management and output solutions."

According to Tyree Varnado, acting commissioner for GSA's FAS, "Awarding this new contract is good for federal agencies, Canon and the American taxpayer. Canon's return to the MAS Program demonstrates its key role in delivering service, innovation and value to our government customers."

About GSA
GSA provides a centralized delivery system of products and services to the federal government, leveraging its enormous buying power to get the best value for taxpayers.
