DSLR Workflow: Working with RAW Files
Presented By: Celac Colvert
Ever wonder what a RAW file is, or the benefits of RAW vs JPEGs? Or maybe you al-ready use RAW files, but aren’t confident with your workflow? Canon Live Learning has you covered!
This class is intended to introduce new photographers to the techniques and essential tools that experienced photographers use to optimize and streamline their workflow with RAW files. It will demonstrate how decisions in the field affect optimal outcomes in post, give you an overview of the tools for organizing and editing your images, and introduce you to image optimization.
We will begin by addressing the building blocks with which a RAW workflow is constructed. We will then look at how that workflow addresses the needs three different types of photographers: an event shooter, a landscape photographer, and a sports journalist on a deadline.
Students should expect to leave with an understanding of the benefits (and deficits) of a RAW workflow, and the tools and work necessary to implement it in their own photography.
