Jack is a world-renowned commercial photographer, and a popular teacher, lecturer, and author, based in New York City. He is know for his creative problem solving for numerous Fortune 500 companies, such as Toys "R" Us, Tylenol, Procter & Gamble, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, The Wall Street Journal, Hyatt, Kodak, Crest, AT&T, Playtex, and several TIME Magazine covers. His easygoing, entertaining, and enlightening lecture style on photography has taken him all over the U.S.A. and around the world.
He was appointed a guest professor at Shandong University of Art and Design in Jinan, China and named a Mo-Tse Grand Master Photographer in China. He is an Honorary Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography and has twice received the IPC (International Photographic Council) Leadership medal at the United Nations. Jack was the featured speaker at photo festivals in both the Philippines and in Indonesia. He has also given presentations in Korea, Spain, and Israel.
Proud of his service in various photography trade associations, Jack served as the President of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and was named an Honorary Master Photographer. He was a board member and President of NY chapter of Advertising Photographers of America (APA) in it's founding years and sat on the NY board of American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).
Well regarded for his knowledge and experience in the business of photography, Jack is the author of several books on photography including "The Copyright Zone", "Photographer's Survival Guide", "Studio and Commercial Photography" and "Illustration Photography". He has written columns in Photoshop User Magazine called "The Copyright Zone" and Jack's insights to professional photography were found for many years in Petersen's Photographic magazine with his popular "Pro Vision" column. His writings have also appeared in many other photography magazines. Jack has been profiled in the British Journal of Photography, China's Professional Photography magazine, and numerous magazines here in the U.S.A. Jack is currently teaches a graduate level course at the School of Visual Arts in New York City on the business of photography.
