Pro Mode Optimized Default Color


PRO Mode makes it simple to print colors that more accurately match what you see on a standard display. Optimized for an sRGB workflow, the technology balances brightness and saturation, and adjusts for paper white and human perception.

 

Increased Fine Art Paper Area


Print larger on Fine Art Paper with a smaller margin (from 35mm to 30mm).

 

Canvas Media Setting


You can now select canvas paper from the printer driver menu.

 

Improved Ramaining Ink Detection


Reduces the possibility of running out of ink before the ink tank replacement recommendation message is displayed.

 
 

Is Your System Up to Date? You DO NOT Need to Upgrade If:

PRINTER DRIVER NAME

  • Your printer driver name is:
  • Canon PRO-1 v1-1 series or
  • Canon PRO-1 v1-1 series XPS
  • Your firmware is up to date

BUNDLED CD

Your CD is 2.0 or higher.

Checking Your Printer Driver Name

Checking Your Printer Driver Name (Windows)

Want to confirm your printer driver name? Follow the steps below if you are a Windows user.

Step 1

Windows 8

From the desktop charms, select:
Settings > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device and Printers

Windows 7

From the Start menu, select:
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers

Windows Vista

From the Start menu, select:
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Printers

Windows XP

From the Start menu, select:
Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Printers and Faxes

Step 2

Right-click your printer’s icon and select Printer Properties. The Printer Properties window will open.

Step 3

Click the Advanced tab and check the name of your Driver.

If your driver name is Canon PRO-1 v1-1 series or Canon PRO-1 v1-1 series XPS, you’re up-to-date and do not need to upgrade.

Checking Your Printer Driver Name (Mac)

Want to confirm your printer driver name? Follow the steps below if you are a Mac user.

Step 1

Open System Preferences and select Print & Scan (or Print & Fax)

Step 2

In the printers list, select your printer.

Step 3

Check the name of the printer driver under Kind.

If your driver name is Canon PRO-1 v1-1 series, you’re up-to-date and do not need to upgrade.

Update Firmware

Download the firmware package and follow the steps below:

    1. CONNECT THE USB CABLE
  • Make sure the printer is connected to your computer via USB.
  • Disconnect all other cables, including LAN and USB for cameras and devices
    2. OPEN PRINTER UPDATE UTILITYPrinter Update Utility
  • WINDOWS - Open the Printer Update.exe
  • MACINTOSH - In the disk image, open Printer Update
    3. CHECK THE MESSAGE UNDER STEP 1
  • Turn the printer power on then click Next
    4. CHECK THE MESSAGE UNDER STEP 2, then click START
    5. YOUR PRINTER IS UPGRADING!
  • An orange light will flash on the printer during the upgrade.
