THERE ARE BIG DIFFERENCES AND BIG RISKS
If you use counterfeit camera accessories – specifically counterfeit batteries, chargers, or external flashes – there's a real risk you might hurt yourself or damage your camera. The information on this site can help keep you and your equipment safe.
To report a counterfeit or to learn where you can purchase genuine Canon products, call 1-855-46-CANON.

GENUINE CANON HOLOGRAM
Look for the genuine Canon anti-counterfeiting hologram on the package when purchasing replacement batteries, toner and single ink tanks. Canon also places an additional hologram on the bottom of its NB-12L and NB-13L batteries, which can be viewed through their blister packs. Both holograms change when tilted back and forth, as demonstrated below.*

PROTECTING YOU AGAINST COUNTERFEIT BATTERIES
Canon is continuing to make efforts to help protect our customers from potentially dangerous counterfeits. How can you tell if your Canon battery is genuine? The NB-12L battery, introduced in 2014, communicates with the PowerShot G1 X Mark II, PowerShot N100 and VIXIA mini X to identify if the battery inserted is genuine Canon.
