This is an image taken in my kitchen with a Old World Swallowtail Butterfly that I had raised. I was testing the new outstanding Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, with a EF 180mm f/3.5L USM Macro lens, which is my work horse lens for butterfly photography. For lighting, the Canon Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX flash was used for fill set at -1 exposure compensation and placed in a soft box. This image was captured in Aperture Priority Mode at 1/30th of a second @ f/8.0 at ISO 250.

Photography Tip:

The key is to get the wings on the same focal plane and have a simple background that is well lit.
