Features

Advanced 4K UHD CMOS Image Sensor
For incredibly sharp and detailed high-definition video recording, the CR-X300 features a 1/2.3-inch, approximately 8.29 effective megapixel 4K UHD CMOS Pro Image Sensor that captures 3840 x 2160 pixels. Thanks to the sensor's high sensitivity, the CR-X300 helps provide vivid, accurate video through an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.

DIGIC DV 6 Image Processor
Get improved picture quality for both 4K UHD video and Full HD with the Over-Sampled HD Processing, along with Canon’s superb autofocus logic.

4K 29.97P and 1080p 59.94P 4:2:2 10-bit Output
6D-SDI and HDMI terminals allow for output that supports integration into professional workflows, making it particularly useful for broadcast applications. The 6G-SDI and HDMI outputs provide an uncompressed signal at 3840 x 2160 or 1920 x 1080 resolution with 4:2:2 color sampling and 10-bit color depth, perfect for demanding television broadcast applications.

Hybrid AF
The CR-X300 is equipped with "Hybrid AF". Hybrid AF is an auto focus system that combines high-precision contrast AF technology and the high-speed phase-difference AF technology to confirm auto focus from the camera. This hybrid auto focus system achieves auto focus faster and more reliably compared to contrast auto focus alone. Furthermore, the CR-X300 features Face Detection and Tracking functions which detects faces and automatically adjusts focus when a human is detected within the frame.

Advanced Full HD Image Quality
Our Full HD image quality from our CR-X300 is now even better thanks to Over Sampling HD Processing, which enables Full HD by effectively utilizing the outstanding capabilities of the 4K UHD CMOS Sensor.

Four Scene Modes for Impressive Video
The CR-X300 features Scene Modes that offer four preset shooting modes suitable for the desired application.

There are four types of Scene Modes: Portrait mode, which exhibits a blurred background while subject is in sharp focus, Sports mode, which enhances capture of moving objects, Low Light mode, which enhances capture of bright images even in dark places, and Spotlight mode, which enhances capture of beautiful images of spotlighted objects.

By selecting a Scene Mode, capture can be performed without having to adjust multiple settings within the Camera menu which aids a speedy setup and configuration allowing the operator to start shooting with impressive image expression.

IR Mode
The CR-X300 features an Infrared Mode allowing the capture of video in conditions with little to no ambient light. This feature allows low-light capture by removing the infrared cutoff filter from the optical path. The camera’s specially designed lens coating allows the infrared light to pass through to the image sensor.

20x Zoom Range
The CR-X300 features a genuine Canon 20x 4K Optical Zoom Lens that provides a highly versatile zoom range with a 35mm equivalent of 29.3 - 601mm to help capture subjects at a variety of distances. Furthermore, the CR-X300 exhibits a 65.6° angle of view when video output is set to 4K UHD and a 63.5° angle of view when video output is set to full HD. This allows operators to capture wider angles of view, which could potentially reduce the amount of cameras needed for a production – reducing overall costs of the project.

20x Digital Zoom
When combined with a digital 20x zoom, the camera can achieve super-telephoto shooting with a maximum 400x zoom (Optical 20x + Digital 20x).

Image Stabilization Options with Two Types of IS Modes
In addition to the Standard optical IS mode, CR-X300 is also equipped with the Powered IS mode that compensates for blurring during telephoto shooting

ND Filters
Internal optical ND filtration up to 1/8 allows for remote exposure control. In addition, an included 1/32 external enhanced ND can be manually activated for more demanding applications.

3-axis Simultaneous PTZ Movement
The CR-X300 is an exceptional PTZ camera which combines smooth, fast, and highly precise movement. In Normal Mode, operational movement has a noise rating of NC45 or lower, making it extremely suitable for quiet indoor environments. Up to 100 Camera Presets are possible, allowing for incredible creative flexibility for all productions, whether large or small venues.

+/- 180° Pan and -40° to +215° Tilt Operation
The CR-X300 is equipped with a Pan & Tilt drive mechanism supporting a range of ±180° Pan, -40° to +215° Tilt, allowing for outstanding movement flexibility, whether mounted in a standard manner, or inverted.

Furthermore, the CR-X300 exhibits a variable Pan and Tilt speed of 0.3° - 60°/second, for situations ranging from the delicate movements of an outdoor worship service to high-paced sports events.

Upright/Inverted Mounting
The CR-X300 can be mounted upright or inverted (ceiling mount). In either position, the picture image will automatically flip when the tilt angle reaches 90°.

Various Interfaces Supported for Multiple Environments
6G-SDI and HDMI Outputs
The CR-X300 features industry-standard 6G-SDI and HDMI video outputs for easy integration into professional video environments. With these interfaces, the user can achieve of output of up to 4K UHD at 29.97p or Full HD at up to 59.94p. Furthermore, the CR-X300 is equipped with a built-in weatherproof microphone that can be utilized to capture audio.

Webcam Driver (Available in June)
Turn the CR-X300 into a super outdoor webcam with Canon's Webcam Driver. The Webcam Driver is a virtual USB driver that allows the CR-X300 to be used as a powerful webcam over a network. The software has many advantages such as, automatic camera detection, up to 4K 30P video output, embedded audio (AAC-LC), supports up to 5 cameras and is free of charge. Furthermore, the PTZ camera is not restricted to the short distance of USB cable, which allows for more flexibility in installation. Take advantage of Canon’s CR-X300 with Webcam Driver for the ultimate PTZ webcam experience.

PoE++ Single Cable Solution
PoE++ (802.3bt compliant) support allows for an easy, single cable solution. More specifically, this allows for quicker, and potentially lower-cost installations, with one cable providing any combination of power, control, and video feed over a standard IP connection.

LAN and Serial Control
The CR-X300 can be controlled by a variety of methods, including serial-based controllers, or by IP-based controllers. These controllers can be hardware or software based offering tremendous flexibility to fit into a variety of production workflows.

IP System
The CR-X300 is equipped with an RJ-45 interface purposed for IP communication, which supports high-resolution videos for distribution. The CR-X300 supports multiple protocols that can be utilized for video, audio and control. The CR-X300 can also be combined with third-party equipment for control purposes.* This IP system can contribute to an efficient and labor-saving camera operations for the field of video production, broadcasting and more.

*Connection with all devices is not guaranteed. Canon makes no representations or warranties with respect to any third-party product or accessory.
