A customizable Viewing Area allows the user flexibility to display everything that needs to be seen. View video from any of the cameras on the network. All registered cameras on your network are grouped into location and zone. Thumbnails of the video stream are displayed at the top of the screen, based on the location and zone selected. These images can be drag-and drop onto the viewing area, and changed to any size. Variable Display When using the SXGA monitor, a maximum of 35 screens of live and recorded images can be displayed or played back simultaneously (up to 24 screens for the XGA). The VK-16 v2.0 software does only support 16 different live cameras. Full Screen Function The Full Screen Function allows the user to enlarge the viewer layout to full screen. In addition, the timeline and camera selector areas can be hidden when maximum viewing area is necessary. View Live and Recorded Video Review pre-recorded video while simultaneously maintaining surveillance of live cameras. Video can be seen from a single location at different times, or playback can be synchronized with other cameras. Pop Up Function Automatically displays video on the camera when motion detection or a sensory event occurs. This prevents important scenes from being overlooked. Status Bar A status bar at the bottom of the screen displays total frame rate, CPU, the number of video windows in the layout, and the current display event.

The VK-16 version 2.0 software allows users to setup different layouts of cameras, and use the auto switch feature to display those layouts at set intervals. This is a useful function for efficiently checking videos on multiple cameras. Layouts can also be shared with different users.  

The VK-16 version 2.0 software allows for the ultimate control over each of the cameras on a network. The camera can be controlled directly from the live video window, allowing the user to easily pan, tilt and zoom. Easily make fine tune adjustments to the focus method and the pan/tilt/zoom speed with the convenient camera control panel located next to each camera window. In addition, the control panel can be used to set cameras to react quickly to difficult, low-light conditions by activating Night Mode. Settings for exposure, white balance, and smart shade control can also be adjusted to optimize the video capturing environment.  

A variety of recording modes match any requirement, to ensuring cameras are recording when they are needed. These modes include: Continuous<br/> Scheduled<br/> Sensor-Triggered Event (Motion-Detection, Pre/Post Alarm) Cameras can be set to record continuously, or special schedules can be set up for holidays and out of the ordinary events that have different requirements. Cameras can even be set to record by sensor event or motion detection for scheduled periods. What's more, with the VK-16 version 2.0 recording software, can record based on a customized trigger from third party software on an external device. For any Canon network camera without built-in motion detection, the VK-16 version 2.0 software allows users to select the area within the recorded video where motion is to be detected. The Motion Detection Settings window lets users maximize their server storage space by letting setting lower frame rates where feasible. Performance under heavy load can also be improved using the frame rate adjustment mode. This feature is useful for cameras without built-in motion detection, although the software can also use in-camera/server-side motion detection as well. &#160;

The VK-16 version 2.0 software allows for a variety of recording options. Cameras can be set to record continuously, on motion detection, or even on a sensory event. Video can be recorded in either M-JPEG or MPEG-4 formats, at a frame rate as high as 30 frames per second. Recording in M-JPEG format ensures every frame is a complete picture, free of any image degradation. Recording in MPEG-4 format saves disk space by decreasing the size of the video files stored. The camera can also be to record while a preset tour is running, and even change settings for exposure based on the camera site. Depending on the camera servers installed, the resolution of video being recorded can be set to 640x480, 320x240, or 160x120 pixels.

The VK-16 version 2.0 software makes finding a shot or an event fast and easy with a variety of ways to search for and display archived video. There are a variety of ways to search for and display video. Timeline<br/> Timeline usability makes it simple to quickly and accurately review stored footage at a glance. Users can easily scroll through the timeline to find and select events for viewing. Simultaneous viewing of both live and recorded video allows the user to review recorded video while maintaining surveillance. It is also possible to play back multiple videos on multiple cameras at the same time. This is a useful function for checking differences at varying time periods, and for confirming multiple recorded videos simultaneously. Event Search<br/> Specific events like motions detection can be searched for and played back. Other search variables include camera location, priority, description, date, and time of the event. Jump to Time<br/> Recorded video can be quickly played back by specifying the time and date the video was captured. Live Events Log<br/> The Live Events Log can quickly be accessed to look through a list of recorded events, catalogued in the Live Events window. Extract Video<br/> Saves recorded video quickly to a file. Specify the time slot of the recorded video, and save up to 1 hour of recorded video in mov format. Date and time stamps can also be put in the video. Snapshots<br/> Snapshots of the images displayed in the video window can be taken. Date and time stamps can also be put in the images. With all of these options, the VK-16 version 2.0 software is a powerful way to find the video you need when time is short.

The VK-16 version 2.0 software allows the user to send and receive live audio to and from the camera site. In addition, recorded audio files can be sent to the camera site manually or by a sensory event like motion detection. Audio recording from the camera site can also be done. Using the VK Viewer, a user can listen in on the camera site, make announcements to that location, or do both at the same time.

Administrators can access the Viewer to perform camera server setup, recording schedules, and viewer setup, and then use the User Management tab in the Storage Server Configuration dialog to setup users. User names and passwords ensure controlled access to your network system. The administrator can also limit access to certain storage servers and layout views. With VK-16 version 2.0 software, everything's under control.
