Features

7500 Lumens*1 of brightness will keep audiences engaged in a wide variety of large venue applications – from classrooms to boardrooms, houses of worship and more. This high level of brightness, combined with a contrast ratio of up to 2100:1, allows this projector to produce deep blacks and balanced whites for a high level of detail and clarity when showing both still images and video.

Engineered for dependability, the LX-MU700 employs a dual lamp system that utilizes two independent lamps. When one lamp reaches its end of life the other can quickly be used, helping to minimize projector downtime and removing the need for the immediate changing of a lamp. This feature makes the LX-MU700 ideal for important applications where projector downtime must be virtually eliminated – a key factor for units installed in areas that may be challenging to access.

Canon's WUXGA resolution brings bright, true widescreen display of intricately detailed HD video content and still images with outstanding color richness to large-room installations in high resolution WUXGA (1920 x 1200) at a competitive price. Content is projected without compression. Widescreen graphics, text and other visual content from laptops and desktop computers are shown in accurate proportions, just as it appears on most monitor screens.

This projector utilizes Single-chip Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology which is a widely utilized projection technology that creates natural and lifelike images. The DLP technology utilizes a 6-segment color wheel along with a reflective Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) to produce video and images with high brightness. The resulting high-resolution video and images maintain the details inherent in what you are showing.

This projector is up to the challenges of a variety of installation applications given the wide assortment of optional lenses available to help achieve optimal image quality. The eight interchangeable lens options range from a Short Fixed Lens to an Ultra Long Zoom Lens, covering a variety of throw ratios. Screen sizes up to 500-inches*3 are possible with this projector. Please refer to the chart below for the throw ratio, zoom ratio, lens shift and screen sizes available with each optional lens.

For added convenience, this model features a quick release button to quickly install and uninstall lenses.

This projector is equipped with a built-in HDBaseT receiver facilitating uncompressed HD video, audio and control signals to be transmitted over one single LAN cable with a maximum distance of 100m. This reduces complex wiring schemes used for a typical setup as well as maximizing long cable runs with minimal image quality degradation.

HDBaseT operation may vary when connected to other third-party HDBaseT devices. Please consult with a Canon representative for a full compatibility list.

Motorized Lens Shift

Motorized vertical and horizontal lens shift allows for adjustment of the image with virtually no distortion. Most lenses can shift up to 0–50% vertically*7,8 and ±10% horizontally*7,8. This model is also equipped with motorized zoom and focus – all of which can be adjusted through the included remote control.

Lens Position Memory

Up to 10 different custom lens presets can be stored and memorized. Each preset includes information for a variety of lens settings such as lens shift, lens zoom and focal length. This makes it easy to switch from one projection set-up to another.

For added convenience, other standard lens settings are also included, such as a Center Lens setting that moves the lens shift, zoom ratio and focal length of the lens to the center position.

Position Flexibility including 360-degree Installation on the Vertical Axis*6

This model can be used in multiple positions to suit a wide variety of applications and environments. Settings to maximize lamp life relative to position and environment are also available, including a High Altitude Mode which increases fan speed for efficient running in high altitude environments.

Two interchangeable color wheels are included to help ensure different types of content are displayed at their best. The pre-installed 6-Segment BRT color wheel adds white to the wheel to emphasize brightness. In an environment with bright ambient light this color wheel increases the clarity and sharpness of charts, graphs and text. The 6-Segment COL color wheel emphasizes color accuracy by adding magenta (instead of white) to the color wheel for true color reproduction with great balance of mid-tones and gradations.

This projector includes pre-set Image Modes and additional customizable Image Modes to suit a wide range of user preferences and projection environments.

Multiple Image Modes*8

Image Modes provide different variations of color reproduction characteristics suitable for the image type and projection environment. They include:

Standard: Ideal for bright rooms, and when using content from computer screens or motion picture content.

Presentation: Ideal for somewhat bright rooms when text needs to be clear, such as when part of a video presentation.

Video: Ideal for rooms that are somewhat dark, and for video content.

This projector offers extensive image quality adjustments to help users customize the image to meet their specific projection needs.

Image Adjustments
The Image Adjustment settings allow users to customize the image and color characteristics to fulfill their specific imaging needs. These include:

Brightness
Contrast
Sharpness
Gamma
Noise Reduction
White Gain
Offset (RGB)
Dynamic Black
Color Adjustments

• Color Temperature (Native, 5400K, 6500K, 9300K)
• White Balance (RGB Offset, RGB Gain)
• Hue
• Saturation
• Gain (RGBCMY)
• White Gain (RGB)

Advanced adjustments allow greater flexibility to the professional user through digital fine-tuning of picture and color characteristics to meet specific image content or environmental conditions. These settings include:

Digital Alignment

This function gives users the ability to digitally zoom, pan and scan the image.

H/V Alignment

This keystone adjustment feature allows correction of trapezoid-shaped projections so that viewers can see a clearly aligned square-shaped image. It's possible to make adjustments horizontally and vertically to achieve optimum positioning with no need to physically move the projector.

Keystone

V: ±40% keystone for projecting on a surface at a ±40° vertical.

This model is capable of projecting 3D content via the DLP-Link System. Utilizing a 3D Blu-ray player along with DLP Link 3D glasses for your audience, this projector will display bright 3D images.

Comprehensive input and output connections allow versatility and easy set-up for a wide range of content sources. Connections include: HDMI, DVI-D, and analog RGB computer connectors; a VGA connector; 5-BNC connectors; DisplayPort for image and audio signal transmission over a single cable; a LAN connection terminal for wired transmission of image and audio signals from a PC; a network-ready RJ-45 port as well as audio output. Industry-standard control and networking inputs include a USB mini B port for easy installation of firmware upgrades, a network-ready RJ-45 port enabling authorized users to manage and control multiple projectors from any PC on a network (Gigabit data transfer speeds are supported), an RS-232 serial connection for monitoring the projector locally through a third-party control system and 3D Sync Out that enables content to be displayed in 3D; a mini-jack that provides a trigger for screen operation and a mini-jack for connecting an optional hand-held wired remote controller. This projector also offers a built-in HDBaseT port for transmission of uncompressed HD video, audio and control signals over one single LAN cable up to a maximum distance of 328 feet. This helps reduce the number of unsightly wires without degrading image quality.

Compatibility with Crestron, AMX Device Discovery and Extron helps ensure seamless integration into most systems or infrastructures and smooth network management. Support for PJLink also makes it possible to control and monitor the projector over a network – this feature is ideal for observing lamp hours, usage and much more.

Easy Access to Replacement Parts

A simplified design helps ensure maintenance efforts are kept to a minimum. Air filters, lenses and lamps can be easily replaced without removing the projector from most installation positions.

Lamp Power Modes

To help keep maintenance and running costs to a minimum, this projector also features an Eco Mode option which can increase the life of the lamp from 2000*11 hours with both lamps on in Normal mode, to 4000*11 hours in Eco mode. There is also a Custom Power Level mode for even more flexible power adjustment.
