Support REALiS Projectors

To match the increasing demand for high-resolution display technology, the REALiS SX800 features high-resolution SXGA+, perfect for displaying crisp video, photographs, fine text, spreadsheets, CAD drawings, and engineering diagrams. Compared to SXGA, it offers a larger display range, capable of reproducing even the smallest details with razor-sharp precision. In addition, the SX800 supports data produced on your widescreen laptop, projecting the entire screen in its true proportions, just as it appears on your screen. Better Resolution: Crisp, clear display of text and diagrams.
Resolution is approximately 1.9x greater than conventional XGA projectors, making it possible to reproduce text as small as 7 point. Even documents with small text and figures are clear and easy to read. XGA SXGA+ Conventional LCD Projector LCOS/AISYS-based SX800 Text is blurred and difficult to read. Small text is clear. Expanded Display Area: A trend of the future.
High-resolution SXGA+ (1400x1050 pixel) projectors are compatible with mainstream desktop computer XGA (1024 x 768) and now more prevalent wide notebook computer WXGA (1280x768 pixel) display images, as well as 16:9 high-definition (1280x720 pixel) images. Conventional LCD Projector LCOS/AISYS-based SX800 Compatible with current mainstream desktop computer screens. Capable of displaying 16:9
high definition video images. Widescreen Views
The REALiS SX800 can reproduce wide-screen data as-is, with no unsightly distortion. When data produced on a PC with WXGA display resolution is projected using an XGA projector, data must be reworked to match the aspect ratio to achieve an accurate display. With an SXGA+ multimedia projector, PC-based data can be projected accurately, with no need for time-consuming adjustments.
At the heart of the REALiS SX800 projector is Canon's exclusive AISYS Optical Engine, a patented optical light engine that achieves optimum brightness and contrast, in addition to reducing the projector's size. AISYS also features Liquid Crystal On Silicon panels, known as LCOS. LCOS - or Liquid Crystal On Silicon - has taken projectors to a whole new level. This new technology produces higher resolution images with exceptional color, smooth rendition on fine lines, and sharp display of small text. Video is displayed seamlessly, with rich color, and crisp blacks with depth and dimension. Canon's LCOS technology allows for images to be displayed with no flickering or "screen door" effect. LCD DLP LCOS Circuitry around each pixel
causes screen door effect. Space between micro-mirrors
creates screen door effect. Circuitry behind panels virtually
eliminates screen door effect. But only Canon realizes the full potential of LCOS technology by combining it with our proprietary and improved 3rd generation AISYS Engine, our patented optical light engine for achieving brightness and high contrast using LCOS panels. AISYS has three components: the illumination system; the color separation and combination system; and the LCOS panels. Only Canon's innovative, breakthrough AISYS technology achieves the right balance of contrast, brightness and compact size to maximize the performance of LCOS. Plus, our new advanced AISYS optical engine features new optical elements, redesigned polarizing beam splitters, and a reconfigured optical layout. The result is improved light efficiency, uniformity and expanded color space. LCD LCOS Grid-like pixel pattern known as
the "Screen Door Effect". Lattice-free, seamless image when
LCOS is combined with AISYS.
DLP LCOS Color appears blurred and broken. Color appears crisp and sharp. With the AC lamp system of the REALiS SX800 and the AISYS optical system the images you project are brighter, with truer color. The purity of red and green is enhanced over that possible with conventional DC lamps giving a more life like depth to the colors on the screen. In addition, the new lamp system boasts an extended operating life, up to 2000 hours in normal mode and up to 2500 hours in quiet mode. LCOS technology combined with an improved 3rd generation AISYS optical engine, the AC lamp system, and 3000 lumens make the REALiS SX800 a superb high-performance projector like no other.
The REALiS SX800 projects with 3000 Lumens, delivering incredible image quality and brightness using the 3rd generation AISYS Optical Engine's new AC lamp system. The 900:1 contrast ratio ensures deep blacks and bright whites. Pure, high-contrast color reproduction creates images with crisp depth and dimension, ideally suited for conveying texture and materials. Colors remain crisp, with superior color balance, perfect for presentations incorporating high-quality visuals. AISYS-based SX80 Projector Reproduces fine details of texture and materials.
The REALiS SX800's 1.5x zoom lens suppresses the distortion of images to the maximum extent. Made possible by a lens design technology Canon has accumulated in the past, the new SX800 is able to deliver high-resolution with minimal ghosting and flare, resulting in brighter images with superior color reproduction. The lens also features a 10:0 lens offset, which maintains the lower edge of projected images. The lower edge of the projected image matches the optical axis of the lens. This permits projection of high-quality images without the deterioration in image quality caused by keystone correction. You can easily change the screen size to accommodate various venues and/or applications. It is now easier to set up the projector perpendicular to the screen without having to tilt the projector, or use the keystone correction. Without 10:0 Lens Offset With 10:0 Lens Offset Keystone correction required when angle is changed. Image obstructed by table when projector is moved back. No keystone correction required when projector is moved straight back. Simple positioning with image quality preserved.
The REALiS SX800 is compatible with a variety of image input sources. Each image input is paired with an audio input. Switching the selected image signal will automatically switch the audio source. An audio output terminal permits connection of external audio equipment. Audio sources can be selected from the projector's remote control.
The REALiS SX800 measures in at 13.0" W x 13.4" D x 4.8" H (332 x 340 x 121mm) and weighs in at only 11.0 lbs (5.0 kg), making the SX800 an ultra-portable and compact projector that's easy to carry and set up, wherever you need it. And with an array of advanced and well-designed features, it's also extremely easy to use. Automatic Vertical Keystone Correction lets you project a perfect image by correcting for keystone distortion of ± 20 degrees. Plus, depending on your requirements, you can use it for rear-projection, or you can mount it on the ceiling with an optional Ceiling Mount Adapter. The SX800's Auto Setup feature is quick and accurate. With the touch of a button, it only takes seconds to setup: Auto Keystone - Vertical keystone correction is automatically applied Auto Input - Input port is automatically detected Once it's set up, operating your projector is easy with the help of Guidance Functions that display operating instructions in an on-screen window. A Graphical User Interface makes for easy operation, with three menus for quick access to display settings, image adjustments and system settings. You're never more than three steps away from any adjustment you need to make! Plus, front and rear infrared sensors let you control your SX800 with a wireless remote from in front of or behind the projector.
With the REALiS SX800's Off and Go feature, you can unplug the projector as soon as your presentation is over. You never have to wait for the projector to cool down before unplugging it and heading to your next meeting - the projector's fan continues to operate, powered by an internal charging system. You can also turn the projector off simply by unplugging it - a convenient feature when the projector is mounted on the ceiling and can't be operated directly. When the presentation finishes... ...the projector can be unplugged immediately. Convenient for quick clean-up and transport.
