Overview
The Canon DP-V2411 24-inch 4K Reference Display is an exceptionally versatile display, designed to be used throughout the production and postproduction process. Equally at home on-set, in a mastering suite/mobile truck or a quality control setting, its 4096X2160 wide viewing angle IPS Panel; DCI compliant 2000:1 contrast ratio and 17:9 aspect ratio meets all cinema and television standards including Broadcast UHD standard ITU-R BT.2020.
The innovative Canon-designed LED backlight with its 10bit IPS panel insures a wide-viewing angle, and the anti-glare coating improves on-set visibility. It also features a specially developed image-processing engine to help produce uniform brightness. The DP-V2411 utilizes the same high image quality technology found in the DP-V3010 display and Canon’s other Reference Displays so you can rely on a consistent look throughout the entire workflow, using any combination from the Canon Display family.
Supporting all Cinema EOS System gamma settings included "Canon Log 3” and “Canon Log 3 (HDR)” gamma settings as well as “Hybrid Log-Gamma” the DP-V2411 can display high contrast and rich-mid tones of HDR (High Dynamic Range) content ordinary not visible to SDR (Standard Dynamic Range). Convenient on-screen display functions provide a range of shooting assistance tools, including Cinema EOS camera information, a waveform monitor, a vector scope, audio-level metering, and more.
As post processes move on-set or near-set, the DP-V2411 offers the ability to internally Debayer the Canon Cinema EOS 4K RAW signal output from the EOS C700, EOS C500 and EOS C300 Mark II cameras for direct display while looping this signal to an external recorder, providing a flexible companion to your other Canon equipment and allowing you to build a simple but sophisticated on-set Canon workflow. Importantly, the DP-V2411 also allows you to verify the looks of the ALEXA SXT cameras made by ARRI as well supporting a linkup to ARRI’s image quality settings and other features such as metadata and Area Markers.” Support for the industry standard ACES 1.0 color management, further insures that this is a serious production tool now and into the future.
Weighing just 26.4 lbs. and featuring a built-in easy set-up transport handle, integrated control panel, solid metal frame and inputs for 24V DC battery power or 100-240V AC, the DP-V2411 4K Reference Display offers high portability and multi-purpose use, whether for on-set live "video village" monitoring; color grading, for viewing dailies, or for use in post suites or mobile 4K UHD broadcast production-control rooms.

The display measures approximately 22.68" x 17.20" x 7.09" (WxHxD), including handle and stand, and is built with a sturdy metal frame- but weighs only about 26 pounds. The display also features a carrying handle, an integrated control panel, solid metal frame and inputs for 24V DC battery power (or 100-240V AC).

The reference display also supports ITU-R BT.2020 color matrix (constant luminance) by converting consistent luminance YUV signals to linear signals and then converting them to RGB signals and, finally, adding gamma. This process allows the monitoring of images recorded with constant luminance.
The ultimate goal is to reproduce the same amount of luminance on the

For example, in scenes containing light areas and dark areas such as a dark room and bright sun peeking through the window above, areas in between are scarcely recognizable in a SDR monitor due to the loss of dark detail and overexposure.
The SDR monitor has difficulty supporting the corresponding details of the original data. Even in dark scenes, gradation is more visible using the

ACES 1.0.1 Support
The DP-V2411 4K Reference Display supports the latest ACES2065-1 standard, and has received the ACES logo from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, after review of its ACES implementation.
The DP-V2411 is capable of providing RAW format image de-bayering and ACES Input Transform, enabling the reference display to transfer RAW format images to the ACES2065-1 images. These images can be displayed by adjusting the exposure and colors using a CDL's (color decision lists) and by performing ACES Output Transform processing. In addition, by sharing the CDL data using a USB connection, the signals output by on-the-set grading and editing set-ups have the same colors and gradations, so the "look" determined on-set or at an off-site grade can be maintained throughout the postproduction workflow.
The DP-V2411 also can be used with any source input that complies with ACESproxy.

Direct Integration with the EOS C700, EOS C500, EOS C300 Mark II and ARRI ALEXA SXT
The EOS C700, EOS C500 and EOS C300 Mark II digital cinema cameras can be directly connected to the
Camera Information Display
This allows for the camera’s metadata information to be viewed when the 3G-SDI RAW format has been selected. Types of metadata that can be displayed include color temperature, f-value, ISO speed, shutter speed, gamma, color gamut, resolution, frame rate, I/P/PsF and camera status (shooting or playback).
Camera Image Quality Link-Up
This function automatically switches the image quality of the display based on the camera’s metadata when the 3G-SDI RAW and Canon Log mode are established. This Link-Up function can be used to link color temperature, gamma and color gamut information. Canon has also made it possible for users to select “Cinema Gamut to 709” or “Cinema Gamut to DCI-P3” as the display’s color gamut when “DCI-P3+” or “Cinema Gamut” (supported by the Cinema EOS System camera) has been set. The image Link-Up function ultimately helps reduce user error. If a quality setting changes on the camera, the

HDR Metering
This feature allows for easy visualization of the PQ or HLG brightness values throughout an image. There is no guesswork in HDR exposure values in comparison to a waveform meter. A variable (100 to 10,000nit) maximum level can also be set – so for instance if you are mastering a 1000 nit project, you can set the maximum level for 1000 nits, then everything over 1000 nits will be shown in red. Everything in SDR is shown in Black and White.

Peaking
This function provides at-a-glance focus confirmation. This convenient tool should be familiar to users of HD cameras.
4K Waveform Monitor and Vector Scope
These are superimposed on the screen display. The signal level is displayed using the waveform monitor function (six types: Y, Cr, Cb, R, G, and B). The two color-difference signals (Cb and Cr) are each displayed with “X axis/Y axis” when the vector scope function is engaged. Included are optimized waveform monitor display settings for Canon Log, SMPTE ST 2084 and other signal inputs.
Zooming Function
Any area of the screen can be selected and enlarged. Magnifying a portion of the picture can make the focusing process easier to accomplish. This includes a feature that allows users to select 4X and 8X magnification levels.

False Color Exposure Metering
This assists in setting the camera's exposure by displaying the input image using colors that differ according to their luminance level. For example, over exposure (above 100% luminance level) is indicated in red and loss of dark detail (under 0% luminance level) is indicated in blue.

Capture
This function saves the currently displayed image as an image file in a USB memory, such as “thumb drive.” Users can choose whether to capture only the video image or also include the marker, waveform monitor, and other image auxiliary functions and OSD menus as well.
Frame Hold
This function freezes the image to be checked and displays it on the screen. It can also be used to capture the image shown on the screen as a photo.
Area Markers
Area markers in rectangle size, position, etc., can be set using this function. They are used for checking the areas where the subtitles and duration of TV broadcasts are to be indicated. Also incorporated are functions for displaying safety zone markers, center markers, and grid markers.
Background Color
When images are to be displayed, users can select white, gray, or black as the color of the black bands in the image non-display areas, which are displayed due to the differences in the view angle. This function is used to check the image quality at the boundaries of the image display and non-display areas.
